Hey all,

Thread title says it all. Do something cool in game? Write about it here! Setting an epic goal for your next Eorzean conquest? Write about it here! Even if it's more epic in your mind than it is in reality, doesn't matter... write about it here!

I kind of miss the old weekly accomplishments thread, so I figured why not have an epic thread of our victories and valor THAT NEVER ENDS??? Also, with our community being so small, I don't see the need to make new threads ever week. Who has time for that, anyway.

And... GO!

OK, I'll go first.

Hit level 60 miner last night! Powered through the last two levels on leves... wanted to be at 60 before the upcoming patch. Also farmed a dragonskin map (which I put up for sale).

Next up, my weekly hour-long content static meets tomorrow night. Our goal is to memorize another couple of phases of Thordan Ex. At this rate (and assuming people keep showing up), we should beat him within a few weeks.

I recently got Astrologian to Level 60. I still need to learn the cards, but aside from that, I'm thoroughly enjoying the job. I've never had to heal before in an MMO...I've always been ranged DPS or support (or both at the same time). For example, my main is Bard. I've found healing to be a feel-good task (pun only partially not intended) and look forward to healing in the future. With that done, I'm working on getting Monk to 60 next (level 54 currently); after that, I'm not sure yet. I'm also getting more fish unlocked (I'm at Lvl 60 on Fisher already).

Basically, I'm mainly leveling and saving up for more Lore gear and for a personal house. I'm still having lots of fun, of course. :)

I'm waiting until the update to resub. Before I left I got caught up on my Relic Spear v2 and reached iLevel 222, which is more than enough for my needs.

Hm. What have I been doing recently?

58 NIN now. I'll probably hit 60 with a few more days worth of dailies and hunts. I'll never actually use NIN for anything, but I'll have it there. Not sure what I'll level next. Debating between PLD (52), DRK (51), and AST (37). I'm not really sold on AST yet but at least the card thing gives it a little variety (especially compared to the snooze fest on WHM.)

I'm loving the Gold Saucer event. I've been saving up for the Fenrir mount for a few weeks now and the MPG bonus is a godsend for that. The 50% MGP bonus even applies to the challenge log rewards. I made almost 100k MGP just from the challenge log yesterday. I'm sitting at around 830k atm so I doubt I'll hit a million this week -not unless I get REALLY lucky with Typhon and the cactpot- but I'll probably get it next week at this rate.

I'm not really much of a crafter but I have CRP and CUL at 50 from before so I'm set for moogle dailies next week (probably.) I think maybe I'll go back and Ixal some more. I'd like to be able to make my own glamour crystals if nothing else.

I'm glad that there's a new patch coming. It'll give me something to do even if only in the short term. I'm almost done with my current made up goals (I'm close to the Fenrir mount and my chocobo is rank 18) and I'm at a bit of a loss as to what I should do next.

I'm playing Elder Scrolls Online until the next expansion for XIV comes out. I have become a graphics ***** since I entered 4k gaming and no mmo looks better than it at 4k. Also I like the depth vs breadth.

Nothing coming out in 3.3 is anything I was really looking forward to, alas D: need to wait until 3.35 for that

Mainly I'm just wondering if the moogle quests will have anything to offer to someone with all 60s. My guess is if there is, probably not until the highest ranks, if it's anything like the other quests...

The Aquapolis looked interesting until I found out it's basically just going to be like trying to do the treasure chest game in Ocarina of Time without the magic lens, except with 7 coin flips instead of 5, and a far more limited/expensive cost of entry. Once I learned that was how it works, my interest plummeted something fierce.

My static last week made progress in Thordan Ex phase 6, but did not get to phase 7. Hoping to get out of phase 6 next Thurs!

Fenrir mount get!

Between GATEs and some chocobo racing I hit 1 million MGP tonight. The mount isn't as cool as I expected it to be though. Screenshots make it seem sleeker and less... poofy. Oh well. It's not the first time I've wasted time and money on something that ended up being stupid. At least I had fun in the process, and it's not like there's really anything better to spend the MGP on at this point (I already have the most of the other stuff I want.)

Unless the flying animation ends up being really cool I'll probably stick my usual elbst/gryphon combo as my go to ground/flying mounts.

They showed off the flying animation of Fenrir in the first half of the recent live letter. Or second half, I just caught the "highlights' from a japanese streamer I follow.

Finally beat coil t13 today. The fight still sucks, even at this level. I can't even fathom how people cleared this and especially t9 back in the day.

I have the same feelings right now about Thordan Ex. There's absolutely no way I'd be able to master this fight at an efficient rate without having a static. Even with echo and iLevel increases, the mechanics simply aren't forgiving.

I expected a comment like this from you, and I think Ifrit HM is actually one of the few encounters in the game I have never seen a wipe to, even on a lowly NA data center.
#16Theonehio, Posted: Jun 06 2016 at 9:25 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Good for you? Ifrit is the first primal HM you technically fight (in both versions of the game) so of course it's a higher possibility that people will wipe to it, especially the "ignore all mechanics" players.

Sure we saw wipes to Ifrit back in the 2.0-2.1 days when the average HM primal group was only i60-70ish. That was a long time ago though. I do trial roulette almost every day, and with one exception* it's been at least a year since I've wiped to a 2.x primal

*I wiped to Titan HM in roulette last week. Five people died in the first couple of minutes and we failed to kill the heart. It was kind of amazing actually.

The only 2.x HM primal I see wipes to anymore is Leviathan, and that's only due to someone failing or overlooking to click the thingy in time (the timing for it is different/stricter compared to the EX version because there's no Spinning Dive before Tidal Wave in the HM version, so that is a potential cause for it too). Even then, I have only seen it happen once per group at the most. It's rare that all 8 people survive Titan HM but ever since 3.x I have yet to see it reach a point where it becomes a wipe.

I've seen people overlook killing the nail in the very first Ifrit fight (where it is excusable, because that is a fight for new players), but never in HM.

At any rate, your comment about Ifrit HM (which I don't feel is accurate to begin with; it takes a really special group to lose to Ifrit HM, even back when the fight was actually relevant) really has no relevance to t13's difficulty.

You have to remember, Hio comes from the magical Japanese data center that still has a pretty terrible clear rate overall. I think FCoB ended with a 15% completion rate (on Chocobo), which is pretty sad, then Alex Savage (Turn 4, also on Chocobo) 5%, and if I recall, the newest Alex was even more pitiful. So realistically, on a WHOLE data center, your fail rate on a Japanese cluster is going to be just about on par with us lowly North American morons.

Like I've said before, I'm almost 100% positive I could transfer over to the Japanese center and still experience the same painful trek through end game. Instead of failing 50/50 times, I might get it down to 49/50.

I am not a mod, but I am pretty sure this discussion was not the point of the thread...

Personally I have not played in a long time, but I am actually pretty excited to see how Palace of the Dead turns out. It definitely has the potential to be a really cool event imo and I can't wait to give it a shot with my friends. Had this been XI I would have probably tried to do some cool things solo as well, but I think I will stick to doing it at least as a duo here. Would probably also like to go through some more of the story, but it depends on if I feel like leveling too.

Nope, but tis what happens when certain people jump at every opportunity to "fight" someone.

That was YOU.

Fynlar posted about how he finally beat t13 and made a comment about the fight still being hard. You jumped in with:

You don't get to turn around after that and blame everyone else for being offended about that comment. You're a troll, and not a very creative one.

Yup. Let's keep this on topic. There will be plenty of other threads in which to have this same old arguement.

Oh really? Have they said anything about how it will play differently by the way? I feel like I might have missed the latest on PotD because I have not kept up since NicoNico I think.

Not my direct achievement, but...

My FC got a new large house!

We had a large house in the goblet, but now we've moved to the Mist. My personal house is still in the Goblet... I didn't see any reason in staying up late (or waking up early) to try buying new land. Besides, I pretty much don't even use my house now.

Still, I really like this Mist, so I'm looking forward to spending more time there. Might even let my house go and just focus on my FC room.
