It's flashy like how they shown off MCH and DRK prior to Heavensward, so hopefully the battle system changes are significant that the melee attack isn't just a glorified "auto-attack", as in it's part of RDM's overall dps similar to how DoT and Auto Attack pre caster stance for BRD/MCH makes up their overall damage.

I like what I see! Pretty sure I'll still main paladin, but RDM will hopefully be the DPS job I've been waiting for.

Nice. Now I can make Ninja and Red Mage my mains just like I did in FF11. Will probably still care about Ninja more though.

That floating orb feels like it shouldn't be there, but I'll deal.

I think the only thing that makes me happy about XIV's RDM is that it'll take the mantle away from DRG as the job that dies to everything, because we all know people will forget it's designed as a Ranged Job (as per current system unless severe overhauls happen) and will try to always utilize the melee at the wrong times.

Similar to the ********** jump" DRGs love to say or NINs trying to be fancy and teleport out of an attack and end up teleporting into another when they choose to do skills at the wrong time haha.
