Question about station cash cardsFollow

I heard that you can buy the Free Realms station cash cards and they are also usable for EQ2, is this true? Because I notice there aren't regular cash cards anywhere. I wanted to buy a mount and I figured since I have some store credit at gamestop and they sell the cards that I would kill two birds with one stone if this was the case and you could use the cards for Free Realms with EQ2 as well, thank you.

And on one other note, is it worth buying a mount at level 20, I usually get by going invisible and my arasai travels rather quickly, it can get a bit tedious, but is it worth buying a mount so early? What level do you usually get the ability to find mounts in game?

Yes, the FreeRealms cards work. I don't think there are EQ2 SC cards.

Also, mounts are available at level one if you want one. And some of the mounts you can get for SC give a 65% run speed boost. So unless you're already running faster than that without a mount, it might be nice to have one.

The regular mounts are sold from horse merchants though, if you didn't want to use SC. They're pretty expensive, costing a few plat and status points and some of the better ones require you to be in a guild of a certain level.

There are also quested mounts. All 4 starting areas give a 25% run speed mount. You can get a rhino from the goblins in Lavastorm for faction, it's 40%. The Kingdom of Sky quest line gives you a cloud mount, also 40%. You can get another rhino in Kunark, there's a flying carpet in Sinking Sands. And the Moonlight Grottos that appear once a month on the 20th and 21st have 2 different unicorns and one flying carpet (these aren't unlimited mounts, they have 20 charges but that's MORE than enough if you rarely dismiss your mount).

There are a few more faction mounts once you get to be level 80 or so, and there are some dropped mounts from dungeons.

I hope that covers some of the ballpark, haha. I'm bored at work. =D

Trust me I know the feeling lol. I just wish I had a computer at work. The Kingdom of the Sky sounds pretty cool I may try that one. I had some SC already so I was looking for something to spend it on. I see that if you buy booster boxes you also get a mount with it, I just don't want to spend 70$ lol.

The current Station Cash cards are branded Free Realms and Clone Wars Adventures. You only have one Station Cash Wallet, so those work in any SOE game that's Station Cash enabled.

edit: If you're 20, and worked through all the quests in your starter area, you may have already earned a mount! Check the Mounts tab in your character window (press C). There are LOTS of mounts in the game, many better than the Marketplace mounts; you don't have to spend real money if you don't want to.

What line of quests would I have to finish in my starter area?

That depends on which area you started in.

Are you sure you didn't already get your mount? Like Calthine said, the mount won't appear in your inventory, it'll go straight to your mount tab and you can check that by hitting C and then the mount tab at the bottom of the character screen. If you did all the quests in your starting zone, you *should* have it.

Im near Neriak, I am at 19 right now and haven't done quests in Nekiak itself yet, I finished Wanderlust questing and am doing quests near there, and I checked the tab and don't see a mount yet.

The quest in Darklight Woods that gives you the mount is one that you get from the tree area. I can't remember the name of it. You get sent to Darklight Fair and the little female Ratonga sends you to the well to fish out souls. She gives you a temporary mount to get there. Once you finish that line, you'll get a mount.

Here we go, it's this quest

Funny thing, I bought the SF collectors edition and didn't know it came with a mount. I have a lot to learn about this game lol.

Well, at first it's only a pet... then it grows and you get to ride it...
(isn't that the way it works?)

Nope, you're thinking of the bear from, um.. Kunark? The dire bear pet. This was a big kitty, I think.

A big kitty that looks like a sausage with a head. And possibly armor.

The bear was from Shadow Odyssey, and the cat mount was from Sentinels Fate.
