Lvl 10 PetsFollow

I am a MBE and have been frustrated on trying to find a good recipe resulting in a decent level 10 pet. Does anyone have any idea or is this system random. I have gotten them in the past but things changed. Any ideas?

I finished MBE (was my silent, my luck) and I made quite a few lvl 10 tanks for the non-CH class. You can only use a level 0 or level 1 shell to get a good chance of a CL10 critter.

So go out and get DNA from high level mobs. The biggest secret - DO NOT USE CRITTERS WITH RANGED ATTACKS!!!!! It will make the resulting critter a lvl 12 and not useable by the non-CH class.

What I did - Klikniks from Yavin 4, Mountain Squill Females and Mountain Squill Guardians (be 4-0-0-0 in Ranger if you want this DNA plus have DNA Sampling 4 or Master BE), Rancors or Graul Maulers. There are other critters but those get you good DNA. Then apply them against a Bearded Jax or one of those bunny looking critters. True, not the most fearsome looking creature but with 5k+ HAM, 50%+ resists and not doing massive damage so that the toon ends up getting all the XP and not the critter.

I did get one huurton and quite a few Cu Pa and a few of those Gungan beasts (forget their names) but you need to be careful and add some slightly lower quality DNA or you'll get a lvl 12-20 critter. I had 10-12 Dewbacks made but I could never get them lower than CL11.

So what level 10s do you recommend then. From your dribble I didn't see anything useful for what the first 2 posters asked.

Here's the real question... what does a nonCH ASK a bio-engineer for? What can be made in that lvl range?

Me: Can you make me a non-ch pet?

BE: Like what?

Me: Uh, something worth having....

BE: Yeah. Like what?

Hey, do you want my business or not?? lol

I saw a bioengineered carrian spat that had 2-3k+ (unstable) ham at level 7. I think it was doing about 100ish for damage. I'd imagine the creator could have boosted the stats a little in making a level 10 also.
I've seen the same thing done with Kaadu's. I think u can get one stable at 2kish ham around level 10 (or 3kish around level 12).
I would say that was a nice choice for non-ch pet, as you could also RIDE it. I'd imagine they can do similar things with other low level mounts as well.

It is really amazing what a good bioengineer is capable of now... on the other end of the level curve i saw a level 40 kima, and a level 62 razor kitty that were absolutely amazing.

Given the new options available to bioengineers (allowing greater control of their results), the level lowering of nonCH pets really does make sence <duck>. You can now get a level 10 critter from a bioengineer that's as least as good if not better than the level 15 pets in the wild... (so it all evens out except for the CH who used to tame-train-sell the pets). It's just going to take everyone a little while to come to the new equilibrium.

As a CH i've been reluctant to give up my clutch of tamed GSP's, etc to allow space in my datapad for bioengineered critters, but "naturally occurring" CH-tamed pets simply cannot compete with the well engineered bio-pets out there now (as it should be).

yesterday, me and my friends raided a reb town on talus. a guy there had a gurrcat (im pretty sure level 10) 11k HAM, 61% resist on heat and acid, and 40% resist on everything else. vulnerable to stun and electricity. very powerful pet.

Thanks for your response. I did find on the swg forum a pretty good recipe. Looks like piket dna works quite well with somethings P/P/?/?/P. Some have used (?)Lesser Plains Bol, Bagerset, and Gurrcat. Only maxing out the psyc, getting mind, agression, and prowess aleast 1%, with physique to 20%Kinetic. They aren't as uber as some, or as weak as the ones that can be tamed and not made. I did want decent and got it. Thanks again.

Hey Vic, no need to be a complete @$$. I'm trying to help. So STFU and go back to mommy's teet.

Ok, so if you want a level 10 pet, you need a level 0 or level 1 shell. The level 2 shells (cloning 2) have too high of a risk of going level 11. The piket DNA is good stuff but it all comes down to combination.

Dune beetles (on Tatt) have excellent strength quality w/o going overboard. Pickets give good endurance (just normal pickets, not plain walkers or females). A Mountain Squill is good for aggression. Rock beetles and mound mites have good intelligence. The last DNA segment can really be whatever (loyality or whatever it's called) as long as it's below 300 points in both categories.

If you look at the 10 stats, they are grouped into 2 sets and each pair corresponds to a DNA profile slot. Anything above 500 will make the critter more than level 10 in most cases unless your gimp it with crappy DNA in another slot. So lets say I have 600/220 for strength, I would need to have 300/80 in aggression (just as an example).

Then comes the shell. The complexity SOMEWHAT dictates the level and strength of the creature. Anything with a complexity more than 24 will be very hard to get to CL10 with good DNA. There isn't a right or wrong creature. Just look at the DNA and try to manipulate the final product. Remember that ranged attacks, high resists and special attacks all add to overall CL.
