I can't answer out of personal experience, but I've seen guildmates connect on dial-up when their broadband was down. From what I've heard, its doable but it ain't pretty. You can chat and probably craft without too many issues, but I don't think combat (at least "intense" combat) is very playable, especially with the the new combat system. But again, I've never tried, so I could be wrong. Hope this helps.

hey i just checked into things and i might be able to get a wireless connection that would allow me to connect at 256kps. would that be sufficient?

I play on dial up, and its not too too bad. Large scale pvp battles (like 30+ people) lag a bit, as do the larger cities. One thing that I have noticed is the spammers causing lag. Whenever I go into a city like cnet, I always put on either guild chat or group chat so my system isnt bogged down by all the people spewing info about what theyre selling. aside from that, as long as there arent too many people around and the server isnt having a bad day, dial up is very doable.

If you use NetZero, it won't work. I'm moving and have tried it in three different towns/counties in two states and it either doesn't work at all or drops me after uberkiller lag. I wish it would work as I need a SWG fix.

Good Luck,
Al
