Prince of Persia: Sands of Time free from UbiSoft.

They're doing some "game a month" give-away thing.

Apparently I have a UPlay account, and I've never bought one Ubisoft game

Note even Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, or Watch Dogs?

Not with UPlay, I've an AC game on my 360

UPlay accounts are cross-system.

Purchased through XBL, never dealt with UPlay on my 360 before as far as I know.

I hear tell that the Steam sales begin once more today. I actually do have a few things I'd like to grab cheap, so here's hoping they're on there.

I picked up Pillars of Eternity. I've heard good things, and I had nothing else to spend my free Steam money on. I may even get around to playing it one day.

It's a very good Baldur's Gate type game, but I can never find the hours needed to sit down and really get into it. about a dozen hours in and I still plan to finish it someday.

Remember there aren't anymore timed sales, so what you see here is what's the price for the entire event.

Grabbed Oblivion GotY Deluxe for $9$12. Now I can finally try playing it with a mod that fixes that god awful stupid leveling system.

Edited to reflect decision to get deluxe edition.

My pick-ups so far:

ICY ($3.25 - 75% off) is a post-apocalyptic RPG taking place in a new Ice Age wasteland. Rated Mostly-Very Positive

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter ($3.99 - 80% off) is a first person mood-driven mystery. Rated Very Positive

BloodGate (89¢ - 90% off) bills itself as an "Action Puzzle RPG"; basically an RPG wth Match-3 combat elements. Rated Positive

Blood & Bacon (89¢ - 10% off) is just ridiculous gun **** involving shooting and lots and lots of lots of pigs. Looks like it should be horrible but is rated Overwhelmingly Positive. Only 10% off but still under a buck and I'll wind up playing it with friends.

Melody's Escape ($4.99 - 50% off) isn't on a super deep discount but I've been playing it since I bought it on the first day of the sale. It's a "Play to your music" rhythm game, set as a side scrolling runner. Levels are generated by the beat/tempo/energy of your tracks and ranges from "really good" to "pretty good" depending on how nontraditional the structure is. Even the weakest levels ("Energy peaks") are pretty fun if not as whiz-bang cool as when it finds a strong 4/4 beat. Rated Very Positive.

Don't know if I'll get anything else. Certainly a far cry from the days where I'd drop three digits during a seasonal sale.

I picked up some games about pooping. They were $0.66 each. I had many Gaben Funbucks to cover them.

I also picked up some other games that one probably shouldn't freely admit to playing. Also covered by Funbucks. Which had cards which sold for quite a bit to replenish said funbucks. Cause people that play those games also like paying a lot for the cards that come from them.

I snagged Fable Anniversary edition for about five dollars or so. Nothing else has caught my eye. I almost bought Rise of the Tomb Raider, but I'm sure it'll be even cheaper come the next sale.

Damage so far:

Grim Dawn
Van Helsing 2
Darksiders 2
Divinity OS Enhanced
Nekopara 2 ^.-
Fruits of Grisnia
Metal Gear Solid 5
Rise of the Tomb Raider

There is more in my wishlist. Also some of these are not great deals (some are!) But I recently went through a long span of games that fit my favorite genre's DS3, FO4, W3, etc. Also I need this methadone list to ease me back into not all games I play are competing for game of the year and also in my wheel house of action/rpg/single player addiction center.

Metal Gear Solid: the Phantom Pain with a copy of MGS: Ground Zeroes is $22.xx from Gamesplanet. All hail the falling British pound.

Not super cheap but cheaper than the $28 Steam is asking.

The BioShock games are being remastered
Quote:
Working with Blind Squirrel Games, we’ve remastered BioShock, BioShock 2, and BioShock Infinite making them look better than ever*. BioShock: The Collection brings the three titles together for the first time, complete with all single-player DLC** and a never-before-seen video series, “Director’s Commentary: Imagining BioShock,” which includes insights from Ken Levine – over $100 of content – for only $59.99. It’s a circus of values! And if you already own BioShock, BioShock 2, and/or Minerva’s Den on Steam, you will be able to upgrade to the remastered version of the respective title(s) for free after release. It’s a circus of values!

Get 'im now for cheap if you don't own them so you can get the remastered versions free. No real "remaster" of BS:I for PC since it already meets "next gen" standards.

Edit: If you owned BS2 before the GFWL switch in 2013, you should have gotten Minerva's Den free when they switched from GWFL to Steam. But it doesn't show as owned on the store page and I had to confirm it via my Steam library ("show downloadable content") or else I might have accidentally repurchased it.

Indie Gala is giving away a copy of Between Me & the Night with any purchase of $4 or more from their store (bundles don't count). It's a well reviewed game and is currently $7.49 on Steam at 50% off. A number of IG's sale prices match Steam's so it might be worth looking if you were going to buy something anyway. You also get a "scratch card" (i.e. free random game) with every purchase -- I got Intake.

So, for buying Kholat for the same $7.49 price it is on Steam, I got Kholat, Between Me & the Night and Intake. Not a bad deal at all.
