So doing 5 community votes gets you one summer card, and according to the message I got voting a sixth time gets you another. Maybe it will be easy to farm cards from this event.

It's every 3 votes that get you one card. Which comes out to one every 24 hours if I don't fail at math, as long as you vote each flash sale.

Did the entire Steam community collectively take drugs that make them incredibly stupid?

Tropico is the daily/weekend deal on Steam at least once a month.

I'm guessing people saw 80% on a $30 game and just picked that one compared to the two indie games.

If they had actually heard of the game, and wanted it, it would be shocking if they didn't already have it at this point.

I might have voted for Tropico. Don't remember.

The system incentivizes voting by offering a reward but fails to incentivize giving a **** what I pick by throwing up three potential sales that I don't care about.

I too don't remember what I voted for. I would say though that my case is frownworthy because it wasn't so much "don't give a sh't" as I didn't know anything about the other two and was too lazy to go internetz them.

Just throw up a post saying which you prefer and if I don't have a preference I'll vote yours.

Ha, thanks, but I'm not going to inconvenience anyone over one vote. Smiley: tongue

Honestly, if the sales continue to be this sh*tty, it's not going to matter either way.

EDIT:

Hitman won. Good thing, because the other two sales are just repeats.

This daily deal is the least impressive so far. Most noteworthy part is Tomb Raider for $25, and it was $15 on Amazon yesterday.

I'm somewhat interested in the RPG Maker, but not at $35.

And at least one of those (Witcher 2) has been on sale this entire time; it's not a daily deal at all.

I only know of what one of the voting games is (Universe Sandbox), and don't particularly care about any of them.

Steam, I am not impressed.

Smiley: dubious I just got it for $12.49 on Steam... (well ok $14.49 cause I got the upgraded edition) but still...

That's DEFINITELY some kind of ninja edit on Steam's part. Actually, looking at the other contentious prices, what seems to be the case is that the Summer Sale page updated with the new games, but didn't update with the new prices (hence the $35 on the RPG maker). Everything's much better now.

Tomb Raider is definitely worth 12 bux. I enjoyed it more than I expected, it's very pretty and gritty at the same time.

The single player DLC for Tomb Raider is bundled together as the "Adventure Pack", and it's $1.75 for 5 "gameplay enhancement" item and 3 skins.

Click on one of the single player DLC, and before you hit "Add to Cart" on the next screen you'll see the Adventure Pack below it.

The old Tomb Raider games are 62¢ each if you like old Tomb Raider games.

Well, I-V are 62¢ each. Underworld is 80¢ and Legends for $1.74

Turns out the developer of Orcs Must Die actually had their office literally across the street from this grocery store I used to work at.

Small world.

Have all of the community choice sales so far been games that have cards? Because System Shock 2 has them and that's not exactly... current.

And it's kind of ********* if it's the case.
