I think I read that somewhere about Reiter then promptly forgot. Smiley: blush Nice find.

I've got some alternate area's to finish still. After I get the key here I'm going to upper cathedral to play with aliens. Then even though I really don't want to I'm going back to nightmare to get Amygdala for the chalice. I went there and looted some stuff but did not confront the boss. Speaking of which I took all the shines from the castle but did not fight uncle Logarius.

Then I need to do some chalice grindage, I've only done the first Phtulu and killed easy dog so far. So yeah I will be at it a long time yet before I take the plunge and go after the final boss. SERIOUS Spoilage about end game boss. Don't blame me if you click.I plan to do the Moon boss as well, already got 2 cords and Amelia is baking a third in her oven for after I beat Nicholas Cage. Plus as a back up there is one on his wet nurse.

Shweeet. I walked into Eb's room but still had all my souls from celestial so I noped out. Does tiny t do that lightning thing you showed at the end of that one video? I don't have enough arcane to use it, but I am actually leveling my arcane a bit now on my skill build because my blades of mercy are +9. At +9 they are S skill B Arcane. I had some pretty good luck on chunks from the blue eyes werewolves. Can't wait to find the +10 rock.

First 5 hours of gameplay: Lost 50k Blood Echoes, can't find the 2nd/3rd lantern or the first boss, or another weapon. Managed to open the shortcuts that loop back to the Central Yharnum lantern.

Welcome to Bloodborne! Keep in mind the first few hours are meant to break you. It will get better, but for some reason they made the beginning super crazy. After my 4th character I can run it in minutes but that's just how these games work which I am sure you know by now.

Some tips, I'll spoiler them if you just want to go it blind:

You need 1 insight to activate the doll and use your echos to level. you can get 1 insight from just running into the cleric beast and dying or finding one madmans knowledge in the sewer. The Cleric beast is at the end of the bridge with the 2 werewolves, you can run past everything on the bridge to get to him.

If you have the back way open to the central yharnam lantern then you are real close to farm heaven. Going left from that lantern the house below can be used to go up stairs and be past the werewolves. But if you bate them to the second story door they can't get in, so you can just cheese them through the door. they drop lots of vials and occasional an upgrade material for your weapon.

While learning the game the Axe is by FAR the easiest weapon to use. Both modes have a charge up ability (Hold r2) that pancakes enemies. The basic move sets are also very strong.

After cleric beast the sewers will open an elevator that leads to a shortcut to get to Father G the second boss. You can get to him in very fast with that elevator. Cleric Beast is actually optional but I recommend you fight him anyway. Molotovs to stun him and then an R1 non trick mode visceral go a long way to making cleric beast manageable.

For Father G use the tombstones to block him off and then spin to win with the Axe charge up. Second phase molotove him while he transforms then shoot him with blunderbus as he rushes you and catch a visceral. Learn to visceral. seriously you may never have paried in Souls like me except for the knights in Anor Londo but in this game visceral is realy important and pretty easy once you learn it.

In case you're still having trouble, here's a map of the first zone. There's an item called a badge that unlocks the ability to buy other weapons that you can find on there. I'd also suggest, once you've found the boss(or used the Madman's Knowledge item found in the level) you grind up about 5 levels, fully stock yourself on molotovs, bullets and blood vials before going after the boss. There's an armor set in the level that's really good(I'm still using parts of it) that I'd also suggest grabbing pre-boss.

Speaking of the boss, the shortcut you found that goes through the house? Go up the second floor, hang a left and run past the big guy surrounded by crows. Boom, you're there.

Thanks. I must have completely missed that house shortcut. I went on the path that leads to the two werewolves on the bridge, then dropped into the sewers and followed that to an elevator which took me to two brick guys, which I them followed a path to a locked gate next to the CY lantern.

Beat Cleric Beast, one try. Kind of sad that he wasn't stronger than the Asylum or Vanguard Demons.

Father Gascoigne down on second attempt. Would have been first if I hadn't panicked when I first stumbled into his zone and tried to Blood Mark out instead of fighting him. This fight is more what I was expecting from this game, reminded me of the fight against Artorias in DS1.

Rushed the Gatling Gun Hunter and forced him off the side of the tower. Now his items are lost as they're floating over a pit. Smiley: frown

Nice Papa G kill btw. Just watched the video. Already picking up the viscerals and whatnot "Very Good". I will be interested in your BSB kill as well. That fight was a major pita for me the first time, but you are looking like it may be no problem for you with how you are doing so far. Smiley: nod

Actually, in DS1, there are a number of NPCs where the usual early game kill strat is to push em off a cliff and reload to get their loot where you can reach it. The ninja flip ring guy and Lautrec come to mind.

BSB down after four attempts. First attempt and kill video below. Second attempt I got it to 25% but the clip didn't save, and the third attempt was a complete ****-up that will remain buried forever.

I saw he got ya with the grab and poison before you can recover to antidote at least once there the first video. Smiley: nod I think that is part of what makes that fight challenging. I mean I know you can circle to it's right and R1 for the most part but that poison pressure in phase 2-3 just adds an aspect to it. Timing the dodges has a big part of my focus and then blam poison now too lol.

I did not play much last night, took a sloppy swing at Ebrietas and then decided to watch bad TV shows. Plus I have been sick since Thursday so I have been sleeping on and off, it's 3 AM here atm and i am going to sleep more now.

*edit: just watched your Eb kill Pol. Two observations, that tiny T is cool I'm jelly of the fact you now have practical magic. Second holy crap your urned molly's hit for 1200+ now. I'm glad I am leveling arcane a bit to help my vorpal blade. Also I should tube some of my kills so you can see how I am sometimes ridiculously awesome and sometimes ridiculously bad.Smiley: blush

To be fair, I was hitting her weak spot. Also, right before her, there's another magic item which seems like it could be pretty good against the right boss. I went with that since she's weaker to lightning.

Also, speaking of BSB, there's one in a chalice dungeon I did which is more or less the same except for one fact. You fight him in a poison swamp.

Quote:
Have you ever wondered about the origin of the healing blood in Bloodborne? Someone has a theory, and it’s kind of gross. It also makes a lot of sense.

As those of you that are playing Bloodborne know, blood is the cornerstone of all society in Yharnam. People drink blood for healing purposes. They also drink it recreationally, so much so that blood is more popular than alcohol. In essence, the people of Bloodborne are like vampires. They’re all thirsty as hell for that blood—literally.

This weekend, Redditor LucatielKnight posted a thread musing on the origin of said blood. They raise a few noteworthy observations, including:

Special blood vials in the game all come from women, such as Arianna, Iosefka, and Sister Adella. We also know that the Healing Church chooses specific women to be “vessels for blood” and are “groomed as Blood Saints.” We also know that the person who introduced the entire concept of drinking blood to Yharnam is a lady—the Queen of the Pthumerians.
One of these women, Arianna, does not give you any more blood when she becomes pregnant. Furthermore, it’s worth considering that the old lady that you can bring to the church does not give you blood. Menopause?
The game loves to use concepts relating to the moon and cycles.
One of Bloodborne’s important locations is called “The Nightmare of Mensis.” There is also a boss called “Brain of Mensis” (which you have to defeat in order to get an item called ‘Blood Rock.’) There is also an item called “Mensis Cage,” which is used as an antenna that facilitates contact with the Great Ones. Mensis is very similar to the word “menses,” which is Latin for, well, menstruation. The word also has close ties with the concept of the moon.

All of this comes together to make LucatielKnight wonder one thing. “Are we all healing with vials of period blood?” LucatielKnight asks. “I’m laughing as I’m writing this, but what is going on!?” Now that they mention it, though, Coldblood does kind of look like menstrual blood clots...

Obviously, this is but a theory/interpretation, and a kind of silly one at that. But given how fixated the game is on the horrors of pregnancy and birth, the idea that maybe the blood vials are menstrual blood isn’t so outlandish. It wouldn’t even be the most disgusting thing in the game, either. Still, I will indulge my more childish side here: eww.
