It's Fallout: New Vegas and not Fallout 3, they aren't related except sharing same game engine and same universe.

Yea...I picked it up last night. I will be playing it as well 14 over next month or two while waiting for 14 to hopefully "fix" itself. Initial thoughts of Vegas? Well...It should be called Fallout 3: New Vegas. They didn't change a thing. It is a glorified 100+ hour expansion for Fallout 3. I'm perfectly fine with that since I loved 3...but those wanting more may end up being a tad disappointed.

This probably belongs in cross-game. Wouldn't have gotten subdefaulted then.

I bought it too and personally I think that what they did is perfect. They had a winning formula with Fallout 3 and Oblivion, and there was no real need to overhaul how the games *play*. It gets old when every time a company pulls out a new game you have to re-learn all over again how to move your character and shoot a gun.

That said, they made enough *subtle* changes that I can forgive them for reusing the engine. It's definitely updated - VATS is greatly improved. No more wild shots and a 60% chance of hitting an enemy actually means you have a good chance of hitting it. Those of us who liked Alchemy in Oblivion and missed it in Fallout 3 can rejoice - They have brought it back in another form.

Overall they did some really good things with the game and it's unfair to act like it has no merit just because they didn't see the need to write a whole new engine.

I mean, look how that worked out for SE. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Well..to me personally, this thread is FFXIV related through pure irony. Ya see...I spent enough at Best Buy in preparation for FFXIV(new pcs n stuff)...that I earned enough rewards($60.00) to pay for Fallout Vegas.

Ahhh...the circle of gaming life.

I got it as well. I agree it's pretty much fallout 3 new vegas, but also agree that is fine by me. Not going to take the place of XIV since I'm having fun with that too. I'll play them both.

Report it to an admin then and they can move it. That's not what the ratings system is for.
