Are you sick of all the endgame shells that require you to sell your soul to the game? Tired of that social shell that just never seems to do anything? Do you want to be a part of a fantastic group that will get you to your lofty ffxiv goals? Perhaps you are the perfect candidate for "Something Witty"!

Hey there alla. I haven't really posted here in about 2 years or so (when I quit ffxi), but I figured I'd post about a new linkshell. It's going to be a really unique shell in that we are going to be tackling as much game content as possible, while not being required to be online excessive amounts of time.

I should mention, this is a brand spanking new shell led by myself (Bartel) and my friend Eastaran. We have been playing mmo's for the past 8 years, including 6+ years of ffxi in which both of us were in the endgame shell "Frenzy" on the Carbuncle server. We had the server first Ixion and also had well over 250 kills of: Nidhogg, Cerberus, Khimaera, KB, Faf, etc. We also have both spent time playing lotro, DnD, and WoW.

Our shell is going to focus on all of the game content, including eventually endgame activities when they are incorporated, but in a more relaxed capacity. We understand that not everyone can devote 100 hours a week to the game. We also understand that a lot of people who fall into this category are excellent gamers who deserve every chance at the best gear. This is why we've made this shell, to accommodate people with a large range of schedules and be able to successfully complete all game content. The reason we are making the shell now is because we'd really like the opportunity to level with the people that we will be playing with for all of the content. We'd like to build a shell where we can get to know our members and actually have some fun while still getting things accomplished.

I'm sure right now you're thinking, "Yeah right Bartel! This sounds too good to be true!" Well, you're wrong. Shut up.

We are probably not the most family friendly shell, as swearing WILL be permitted, and we would like to keep our members 17+ if possible. Sounds like a cool shell, and as always, I'll encourage any cool shells to roll on whatever server the RPC selects. I'm sure I'll eventually be at least a little interested in a casual endgame shell. That's what my last shell was, and it was a good home to me.

Coming from Carbuncle, Frenzy wasn't "that one Linkshell" (you know how every server has "that one linkshell" that has been around forever and wants you to sacrifice your firstborn and mail them the blood to join, and then a bunch of good ones), but they were one of the better ones, all LS and inter-LS drama aside.

I was never in, nor did I ever apply to Frenzy, but they're a competent group who get **** done.

I still personally don't get the point of starting an endgame LS before the game is even out, but at least for once, it's not some 1 post "Hi, I just created my account to spam your forum with our great LS" user.

How about for the more casual player? Like...I never really got too far in FFXI after two years, but I was ontop of every single event that went on and I happily showed every single LS member the steps.

So...yeah. How about us?

The plan is to make sure our leaders and members are on top of things. Like I know that myself and Eastaran will go out of our way to research fights, find the best strategies, do walkthroughs with anyone who wants them, etc... basically, it's just the kind of people we are and it's what we like to do in a game. We will make sure we use our time to the fullest at events and get a LOT accomplished in a short amount of time.

We don't expect members to be as hardcore as we are in some regards, we expect members to do what makes them happy, while still understanding that as a linkshell we want to do things as a group. We are HAPPY to do any events that our members want, ranging from simple nation quests, missions, instances, raids, etc...

I guess that's the nice thing about this shell: we are really up to making it however all our members want it. Though Eastaran and I will definitely want to do endgame at some point, we are also up for experiencing the game as a whole and taking our time with different content.

Times will be in EST and events will probably start at 6-8pm EST if possible. However, since we are working with multiple schedules there is a good chance they will rotate. I'd say events will be no EARLIER than 5pm EST and no later than 11pm EST (only that late if the event is short).

We're only doing the application process so we can keep track of who is in the group and maybe start having some conversations about the game, other games, random sh*t, etc...

your shell sounds like a great option.Ive played FFXI for 7 yrs recently retired. Unfortunatly I have to wait till PS3 version comes out and by then I'd be 6 months behind shell and do we have option on choosing server? hmmm what to do lol

lol well I tried to fill out an application form but it wont let me says thread is locked IDK me and pc's dont get along well^^ anyhow I signed up to be a member but thats as far as I got. If ya got any idea what Im doin wrong let me know haha
