Gods Among Men would like to extend an invite to anyone looking for a linkshell on Selbina server. We're primarily made up of mature gamers that are teamwork orientated and want to focus on enjoying the game content. Prior MMO experience not a big deal but a plus. (especially FFXI veterans) We are by no means "hardcore" but we take progression seriously with endgame plans down the road. Gods Among Men welcomes all jobs, races and nations of allegiance.

After a pretty amazing response to my recruiting post yesterday I figured I'd touch base with the community again. It seems like we're already building a solid player base. We've got members talking on vent or LS chat, grouping, crafting with each other, talking shop about game mechanics, etc etc. When recruiting you always have concerns that you'll get a bunch of "wallflowers" so to speak. You know the type that join up, don't talk, stay for a bit, then leave. This is a social game and communication is key in my opinion.
I'm also surprised at how many FFXI vets have joined our ranks. We've got a few players new to final fantasy as well but they're catching on fast!

Early Release check in!
Recruiting is still going well and has definately exceeded our expectations so far. Not just the amount of players we've brought into the LS but the caliber of them. I think we had a couple of parties over the course of Sat that had like 8-9 people together. Both chat and vent very active in prime time as well. It's amazing that we were strangers a few days ago but there's already a definate camaraderie.
If you're tired of running around questing/farming/crafting in silence and want to be a part of something like this you are more than welcome to join us. (contact info on other posts)

A quick note to players who've sent me a tell in game today that were interested in joining. Apparently the last maint broke the in game chat. For some people, I can see text but can't see your name. I wanted to tell you that I'm not giving you the brush off! If you could, include your name in the tell so I can respond to you. ie: "Hey, this is <name> I'm interested in your LS" Thanks for your patience.

This message is to the players just joining Selbina at tomorrow's launch as well as the CE players who have yet to find a home. I'll be on all day to talk to potential members interested in joining our very active linkshell. You can send me an in game /tell, my character's name is Vib Jameson. We currently have approx 70-80 members on the roster and as far as I know a linkshell caps at 120 (I could be wrong) One can only speculate how many will make it on to Selbina but as I said, space is limited. We'll do the best we can to accomodate.

Due to the system SE has implemented in their game (membership cap) we are no longer openly recruiting. Also under SE's flawed linkshell membership system, we cannot remove approx 5-10 inactive accounts on our 110 man roster. We're going to try and petition a GM to remove some of these players to allow space for active players to join.
We've been fortunate enough to get many active players and we'd like to keep bringing more into our online family. Unfortunately, the design of the game forces our hand. We just want to make this one point clear. We're not elitist or saying people aren't good enough to join our ranks. There just isn't enough room.
If you're still interested in our linkshell, thanks for your patience and understanding. We are still taking applications and will immediately contact players if/when room is available. As we all know, thus far, FFXIV has had its ups and downs. Our linkshell has been weathering the storm and continues to move forward. As I'm sure most LS's have been experiencing, you lose a few players, you gain a few players. We've managed to maintain our core of 30-40+ active core members. We group for leves, form grind parties, craft for each other and sometimes just just goof around on vent, lol.
We're looking to get more dedicated players to join our ranks. If you're rank 18-20 in disciple war/magic and have a physical level of around 23-25 we'd like to hear from you. All applications will be held in consideration regardless of class and exceptions will be made for exceptional players.
We'd also like to say a few words to some of the dying LS's on the server. If you've got an active core membership on a smaller, drowning linkshell, you're welcome to make contact with one of our officers. If we can help you stay together and progress through the game, well we feel that's good for everybody.
