I knew just by server population that this was a quiet server, but still...

Anyways, I can be found lurking around by the name of Kyoshindi Parashu. I spent about 5 years on FFXI starting on NA release. Never been big on crafting so I still haven't taken the plunge there. Currently my physical level is 16. I also have Marauder, Gladiator, Pugilist, Lancer, and Archer to level 10. Marauder will be my bread and butter though.

If anyone needs anything just drop me line, in or out of the game. For you crafters I usually bazaar crystals in front of the repair NPC in Ul'dah. If you catch me online let me know you're from Zam and drop the price a bit for you. If there is some other raw materials you may want/need let me know and if I can kill it I'll farm it for you.

Here's hoping XIV becomes as much of a time sink as XI was for me. It's far cheaper to stay home than to head to the bar.

Speaking of bars, Beers on me...

Come on people! I know you're out there (I talking to you "Anonymous Guests"). Please don't tell me this will become another Midgard with just a handful of same people posting for years to come....

Sup Kyo. So you made your home on Melmond, eh? I ended up rolling on Selbina. It was the most populated server on the list, second to Lindblum, but I heard that's the /b/ server so...yeah. Good to see someone else from Midgard is trying out FFXIV.

Wow, good to hear from you. I had wanted to try for Mysidia but by the time I got home from work it was locked. It also turns out that a few Warrior friends landed on Selbina.I thought about starting over there but didn't want to lose my bonus items. Maybe one day I'll transfer over.

I ended up getting a random invite from a LS last night, seems like a decent bunch. I'm already liking how easy it is to make money in the game. So far I think this game will have me sucked in for the next few years.

what would be the easiest way to make money?

To be honest, just play the game. Rank 10 levels give out decent gil and I hear the Rank 20's are a huge setup from them, upwards of 20k. If you do a lot of level grinding you can usually make 20k+ a day on NPCing your junk drops. I also average about 40-60k (some times more) leaving my character logged in and Bazaar Crystals/shards. As long as you don't try and rip crafters off with ridicules prices they will buy. You just need to make sure it's worth it to buy from you rather than go out and farm themselves.

In just a few days I had amassed 60+ of most crystals and 999+ of all the shards. People will sell stuff for crazy prices hoping for a quick buck, don't be them. After a while you will be begun to have repeat customers if your prices are fair. I also just use my retainer as a pack mule for now. It's a to much of a pain bazaar'n stuff on her. Far to crowded in the wards.

Good to see someone trying to reach out from this server.

Name is Empyrean Asmodeus. I'm currently focusing my Lalafell on GLD.

A long while back I played FFXI on Bahamut as Fallen (Taru PLD) for about 2 years (made it to roughly 71 before my exodus), so I'm looking to get back into my runt tank status.

Feel free to hit me up if you're bored!

Well, I'm usually one of the quiet folk that sticks to myself but it seems to be getting me into issues there is only so much one can do by themselves. So here I go reaching out to others, The name is Roaken Railethorn just lookin to possibly make a few friends, feel free to add me maybe do some leves together or help each other out a bit. I usually am doing crafting (Leatherworking) mainly but slightly stuck due to lack of wind shards. You can find me in game on either Roaken Railethorn or Zoart Semphron.

Nice to meet everyone. As for the wind shads, I notice they seem to sell fast. Plan on farming up 900+ tonight. Just FYI, the smal Ewe & puks near Limsa L drop between 3 and 6 shards on average. You could probably farm off these mobs with at least a rank 7 DoW or DoM. They mostly con blue or green on all my rank 10 DoW jobs I use for grinding/farming.

I think you get the bonus items each time you start a character. I deleted my first character, created another, and still got the Onion Helm. If you end up rolling on Selbina, look up Kor Vaene. Thought about calling him Cor Thaemus, but ended up liking the other name more.

About How much do wind shards usually run for, I don't usually see them floating around all that much. Just wanted to say thanks for the info about the Puks will have to check into that when server is back up again.

I see people selling them from 300-4k... I usually let them go for 250 a shard and 2.5-3k for the crystals. Sometimes less, sometimes more, I always base my prices on the low end of the spectrum. Figure it's pointless to ask for a lot and they sit there being unused. Think I'm just going to grind/farm until Thursday (get a couple more levels on each DoW class). I'm sure the demand will sky rocket once the 30th comes to pass.

If only I had know. I'll remember it just in case. For now I think I'm rather thankful Melmond had a lower population starting off. Less low level competition so far when I find a good spot to grind/farm.

Ello, ello! :D

Here straight off of roughly 5 years on FFXI. (dabbled a bit with WoW, just wasn't for me) Playing XIV pretty casually, just having fun exploring and trying stuff out. I'm never gonna be uber, and that's fine by me, lol! Ended up on Melmond because a nice guy (yes, you Spike) my husband and I played FFXI with said he was landing here.

So if ya see Yemaya Lakshmi running around, bumping into stuff, give her a wave. Don't be upset if she don't respond, though...still trying to get accustomed to the controls and whatnot. I'd probably just end up bowing at a sheep. O.o

Happy adventuring!

heylo all, i'm playing under the same name as on here. i'm playing mainly as an archer and crafting as a carpenter and leatherworker.

but yea, there's need to be a lot more socializing ingame, it just gets too quiet.
#17 Sep 29 2010 at 10:15 PM Rating: Good
it is way too quiet. the only people i ever talk to are the people in my linkshell

I'm generally one of the people trying to respond to the shouts of how to do one thing or another, as far as Linkshell chat only two other people from our XI linkshell have made it over to XIV so far.I know that some are planning to hop over on the ps3 release.
So that means on my end its been pretty calm and quiet, nice at times though other times it makes you just want to fall asleep, almost as if playing a reg final fantasy game lol.

Hi there,

I have, as yet, not been able to log into the game; however, my brother bought the collector's edition and set himself on this server, so I plan on doing the same. No clue that my name is going to be, or what I am going to do.

I am also a former FFXI player. I was on the Fairy server when there was a Fairy server, character named Bishop.

Hope to see you all in game, if the maintenance ever ends.

Another FFXI veteren here. I was on the Ramuh server. Played FFXIV through closed and open beta. Launched my own linkshell along with some old FFXI buddies on the day the collectors edition launched. We are nearly ready to start recruiting for the LS now. www.thelastorderls.com is our website. The LS will eventually be an end game LS, or "HNMLS", but we have a while yet before we see any real solid end game in 14. Really excited about the new game, and really enjoying it.

Finally got on. I am really impressed with the visuals of the game.
Anyhow, drop me a line anytime. Name: Nact Whisperwind

See you in game.

You're name is awfully familiar. Were you a taru blackmage? I keep thinking we used to run dynamis together which, for the life of me, I can't remember the shell name. Anasta, Duatha, Fuzzymaro, Rotha...

Hello! My name is Soul Moon in game. I'm just playing FFXIV casually right now, but that's the way FFXI started out, too. So, I guess we'll see. I played XI for a little over 6 years on the Migard server, and I tend to be a bit of a lurker on forums. If anyone needs any help, I'm always down to help out, though. Just let me know!

Hello fellow Melmondians. (Melmonders?)Just wanted to drop by the forums and say hi to the small but friendly community of players on this server. I'm hoping to meet some of you in game and explore what this game has to offer, making some friends along the way. I'm a huge fan of exploring MMOs.. for the sole purpose of exploration. So far, from what I've seen this game is absolutely gorgeous and I'm really looking forward to doing more than just taking random screenshots of the places I've visited so far (and also one day taking revenge on all those annoying anoles and efts that have killed me on my "hikes"!).

My character's name is Light Acadi and my gf who will be starting in a couple days is Misa Acadi. Yes we took our names from popular characters from the Death Note anime, which is kinda lame, but we ran outta ideas brainstorming brilliant names for ourselves so we settled with something simple (and ultimately unoriginal =P). As for classes and all that other fun stuff, I'm currently a 11 pugilist and 9 weaver but hoping to pursue conjurer or thaumatauge in the near future. Our play times are usually after 8pm EST and on weekends so feel free to send me a /tell and chat or hang out. After soloing for the last few days to get used to the game, socializing with real ppl will be a welcome change haha.
