I'd still attribute it to the cashier as it should be a known design flaw and workarounds should be in place.

I can't really blame the maybe 17 year old girl for not wanting to lift the ~20lb pack if she doesn't have to. Smiley: lol

Not that it really matters, they're probably insured against this stuff anyway.

Yeah. If the customer is expected to place the product on the conveyor belt, then the conveyor belt needs to support the products of the store.

If the bag caught, the cashier should have stopped it. Pretty obvious...

Or they could just, you know, buy solid belts in the first place.

Either way, not your fault. You're not supposed to know anything beyond "put item on belt."

We usually leave heavy stuff in the cart and the lady reaches over the counter and scans it with the hand-held thingy.

Yeah, but the belts CAN take heavy stuff. That's just because we're lazy.

Come to think of it, some places have a "leave heavy items in cart" sign up at the register. Usually referring to things like big bags of litter, dog food, 24 packs of soda, etc.

Also, the kids are heavy enough these days, I'm not lifting anything I don't have to.

You guys are really over thinking this, I just thought it was kind of funny because, well, expensive crunching noises are always funny if you don't have to pay for them.

It's fun to take everyday oddities and turn them into moral debates. Smiley: grin

Music at speed skating events is so cheesy... I've heard Ice Ice Baby at least 4 times in the past 2 hours. On the other hand, the guys racing a 500m to the sound of the A-Team soundtrack must've had a blast.

As per the cashier comment, I can speak with authority that we have limited control over the belts. If something got stuck, I could have either turned the belt off by flipping a switch or tried to cover up the camera lens that detects when the belt needs to stop. It's not like we have a step that we push up to control it. It requires very quick response time to save that carton of eggs.

Oh hell no. If they stay inside they tear up the house, they've got way too much energy for a house as small as mine. I'd rather deal with the paranoia of one of them not coming home than with the trouble of not getting to sleep because cats are fighting and running all over the house.

Edit: Smiley: lolSmiley: laughSmiley: lol the Imperial March from Star Wars playing as some skaters enter the rink for their race.

Let's be honest, that song along with much of the music from the late 80s early 90s is amazing in hindsight. Guilty pleasure amazing.

It's still awfully cheesy for a speed skating event.

Being cheesy is what makes it good. You don't watch Army of Darkness for a sociopolitical statement or the captivating story. You watch it for the cheese.

Soooo, I just bought D3 for the PS3. Which is apparently what happens when you're bored, horny, and alone on a Friday night and need a distraction.

Now if it would only download faster, I might actually get to play it tonight.

What? Why? Especially with RoS coming out in less than a month.

Also, probably not for Tyreal. He's black and digg has a racist ****.

I dunno, nephalim could be a turn on.

And wait, is RoS not an expansion, but a stand-alone game? Because... that would suck. But oh well, already spent the $35 (PS+).

And of course I fell asleep when it was almost done downloading... so now I'm up again in the middle of the night...

It's an expansion and not stand alone, but I thought you had D3 for the PC?

Nope, never bought it. Couldn't enjoy it.

But without the AH and with the PS3 controller I'm not hating it as much. It was still largely an impulse buy. Smiley: lol

I thought you liked story based games? Cause you know D3 has a story with more holes than Swiss cheese right?

I know, I'm aggressively ignoring it. Smiley: lol So far, my tactic has been to focus entirely on the worldbuilding stuff, like what the random NPCs say, and not on the central plot at all.

I'm also drinking Earl Grey... the last 12 hours are just a bunch of character contradictions for me.

Earl grey is delicious. If you have good earl grey anyway. Also, you realize that you're going to have to run through the story at least 3 times, right?
