Wait, what? No you can't. It might be different on console, but you can't even bring up the skills window during combat on PC. You're locked into whatever you have at the time at the start of combat.

Definitely different on the console. Unless my game is just bugged to the point where it really likes me.

Anyway, do you know if they're bringing 2.0 to the PS3? Because you don't see a ton of drops to begin with, and it's getting really annoying playing my DH, because pretty much all my weapon upgrades have to come from vendors. It's really quite frustrating.

They haven't announced any plans to ship RoS or the 2.0 systems to console yet. RoS is a given, but I actually don't know whether or not they are going to give console players Loot 2.0 and Paragon 2.0 and all that.

That's a serious bummer, because the current system is probably going to lose my interest in the matter of weeks if this keeps up.

[edit]

Maybe I'll reroll Barb so I can actually have a solid chance to be able to use my drops.

Monks and wands made me remember ffxi for a moment. We were farming Hakutakus (auto corrects to Haitians. Hilarious.), and I lent my Kraken Club to my friend who was there as monk. Hundred Fists + Kraken Club is like watching Michael J Fox having a seizure.

I really, really like the way Diablo looks on this notebook. Thinkpad. Ideapad. Whatever.

Lately I just have to play it for twenty minutes or so before I log off for the night. I hope this was a nice contribution to this most interesting subject.

The only solution is to play all classes. For what it's worth, the wizard or whatever it's called is the most fun ranged class I've played in an action RPG.

Edit: Hah, diabloprogress still has my characters. Sadly my monk is in magic find gear...

Also, I think I've overdosed on Torchlight a bit. Someone recommend me a fun, cheap game ($25 or less) that's in the action/adventure/rpg/stealth corner. History like AC and a decent story are a plus and fantasy > scifi.

I WANT to like the Wizard (loved my Sorc in D2), but it's so boring at the early levels (at least).

A straight dps nuke, frost nova, diamond skin, and a channeling snare dps. Arcane Orb is somewhat interesting. I have no doubt it probably gets a lot of fun, but right now, it's meh. I may be missing something?

Then I compare that to my Demon Hunter and I have:

-A snaring trap (tactical movement) or a big leap
-An arrow with a chance to pierce, and seeking abilities or an arrow that chains up to other mobs, snares them, and shares the damage.
-A big burst skill or rapid fire zomg

It's just much more interesting, tactically speaking.

I don't doubt the Wizard gets fun. I'm just struggling to have fun with him right now.

Aww ****. They took out Critical Mass which was the one passive that made Wizards awesome. It reduced all cooldowns by 1 second for every crit which meant you could be a crazy melee mage and spam energy twister, explosive blast, frost nova and crystal skin like crazy. You did need some 40% crit to make it work since energy twister had a fairly low chance to proc things.

Seems like they ****** over Archon as well, Archon used to have 1 second longer duration for every enemy you kill so you could have 100% archon uptime if you killed fast enough.

Critical Mass and Archon builds were toxic and needed to die, preferably slowly.

Now you have actual builds that don't revolve around godmode, like Frost builds or meteor builds or Tal Rashas's builds. Killing critical mass was the best thing that happened to the class.

Monk was where I gravitated to, but they've given Demon Hunters some much needed love, and they're pretty awesome now too.

That's one thing I liked about Witch Doctor. They seemed to be able to take a bit more punishment, between the pets, the Jungle Fortitude passive, and a lot of their life regen mechanics.

Shawarma and knafe from Momoun's. A+, would recommend.

I almost want to go make myself vomit just so I can eat another one.

Critical mass builds were also by far the most fun to play and quite fragile as when something went wrong you were dead in half a second. And they still weren't anywhere near as powerful as WW Barbs.

I have a few places like that. My solution has been to get whoever I'm there with to order for me.

The fun part is subjective, but I didn't find them fun myself. The whole "alive until you're all of a sudden dead" thing, though, went against everything Blizzard was trying to do this patch with higher health pools, more constant damage, and the removal of lifesteal. They wanted combat to be much less binary, and the CM build went against that hard.

It also contributed to the ccookie cutter build problem in a big way by making it so that you had to go CM and farm MP10, or you went Archon and farmed MP0. There was no other build people used, because the others were so ineffective when compared to those two builds.

And comparing them to WW barbs isn't saying much, because that was yet another godmode build that was nerfed hard. WW barb the build and Archon as a spell were salvageable, though, CM wasn't.

Wait, they've announced RoS for the PS4... but not for the PS3...

Smiley: glare

I remember the days when Blizz used to be at the very, very top of my list of favorite gaming companies. Nowadays...
