Hi their ^__^

So im a long time player who went from PS2 to 360 but i realized i wanna play on my PC just with the controllers

im using motionjoy and a PS3 Sixaxis controller and for the LIFE of me i cant get the controller to work!

the set up i want is the typical path via 360 controller

Triggers are macros and have to be held to keep macros up
L1 is auto run/R1 is nothing unless taking a screen shot
confirm is A/X
cancel B/O
menu commands access is X/ []
toggles windows is triangle/Y
targeting and option selection while in menus is the D-PAD
movement is the left stick
healing is clicking Left stick
camera is right stick
changing View is clicking right stick
Select is hide window
Start is logging out

now i cant set up controls like this under config with the whole button 1-32!
as well as i cant get the control sticks to function at all under config.
its like it doesn't recognize the control sticks.

i have never been soooo frustrated in my life

help would be appreciated for my friends and event LS need me since we're a small group

Have you tried this?

You are better off using the xbox 360 controller since it works better with both windows and FFXI.

I wouldn't recommend the 360 controller as I know the stock drivers don't support the triggers as actual buttons - they are axis which won't work with the macro palette. Then you have to load redcl0ud's drivers, which are hit or miss. Mostly miss, and I don't think that the guide I wrote up for them is even valid anymore now that 7 is the standard.

If you are willing to spend a few bucks, get a Logitech Rumblepad II. I have the cordless version, and it's set up just like the Ps2 controller (albeit beefier), and the USB receiver nub has an incredibly small footprint. I never take it out of my laptop's USB port. Very small. The controller works right out of the box, and has a setting to identify as an Xbox controller for games that support Xbox profile (Like Fallout 3 and New Vegas).

It's a great controller, and doesn't chew up batteries like I thought it would. If you continue to have issues with the Ps3 controller (or get sick of being chained to the PC with the cord), check out the rumblepad.
