I regularly dualbox on my computer and for whatever reason, only one of my characters keeps freezing. Sometimes POL outright crashes and Windows sends me the "PlayOnline Viewer has stopped working" messages, other times it just freezes and I have to find out for myself when I try to switch to the window. It's near immediate when I log on (within 2-3 minutes), though sometimes it never happens. Everything on my laptop is brand new - I just got my laptop back from the HP repair center yesterday around 3PM.

Any third party tools have exactly the same settings on both characters when I play. All of my files and programs are up-to-date because I've downloaded and updated them all within the past 12 hours. I've defragmented; repaired any registry errors; run full SpyWare Doctor & MalwareBytes' scans and found no results; and file checked POL, TetraMaster, and FFXI with no results. I'm by no means a computer genius but I feel I covered my bases decently well.

My laptop specs are...
HP pavilion dv5-2045dx, 64-bit operating system (Windows 7)
Intel core i3 CPU M350 2.27Ghz processor
4GB RAM (3.8 usable)

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions to avoid this, please let me know. If you need any more information about my system or XI info feel free to PM me. I appreciate any advice offered!

I always have one of my accounts crash when I log out, but when they're both logged in they run fine side by side.

This may be better suited for the Windower forums, however. FFXI was never meant to run on dual instances and they're the folks that did the extensive witchery necessar to fool Windows into running two sets at once.
