I totally need to build myself one of these:

Motherboard: Asus P9X79 WS LGA 2011 Intel X79 $279
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131798

CPU: Intel socket 2011 3.8 Ghz hexacore with hyperthreading - $599
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116492

Ram: 8 sticks of Corsair DDr3 PC3 12800 at $22 ea = $176
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145346

The existing 1200 watt PSU will do for power, the case I have is suitible still, as is the water cooling setup. Same with the drives, though I may have to toss a blue ray burner in there. Especially since they are down to $69. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136239

Then of course I also need to upgrade the video cards. Still hopeing for a 590 GTX.

So, $1100 without the video card, $1800 with. Ouch.

...why? What could you possibly be running that would require that much power?

I could tell you, but then I would have to use my orbital death ray on you.

It's an orbital deathray realtime tactical linkup.

That and 48 simultanious render sessions of 3d wombat power armor designs.

Never understood why people want to go with hexcore when nothing I know of beyond maybe an orbital death ray can utilize six cores.

with the hyperthreading it's actually 12 cores technically, and you would be suprised!

apperently the intel jerks aren't putting CPU fans in their CPU's anymore. you have to buy an aftermarket one now. which i thought was kind of lame.
