Who were you? (movie style)Follow

#1 Oct 17 2007 at 10:08 PM Rating: Decent
We all had them as kids growing up... those movies that we could watch any time of day, a thousand times over, simply because that's what we liked. It was a time before you cared what was "cool" or "hot" or "new", and really just watched movies for the fun of it. You didn't stop to think about whether it had a plot, or was overacted (or underacted), or didn't have enough special effects or drama, or was filled with lame comedy. It was either good, or it sucked. In any event, these movies always bring back childhood memories of times when things were pretty damn simple. What are some of those movies for you?

Mine in no particular order (includes sequels and such):

Karate Kid
TMNT (the non-animated ones)
Jaws
Beverly Hills Cop
Caddyshack
Weird Science
Dirty Dancing
Friday the 13th
Gremlins
Iron Eagle
Rocky
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Star Wars

I wasn't much of a movie kid, but for whatever reason, I enjoyed PBS immensely. I used to sit through Porkchop every day, eagerly awaiting Bill Nye the Science Guy. (I know.)

As I grew up, I came to appreciate how awesome Bob Ross was, as well.
