So recently I have discovered that I have the IP address for everyone person who logs into any of my four Minecraft servers-- which I can then trace directly to its source with a quick slap of my keyboard. They even provide a satellite map and icon pinpointing exactly where they live.

Its not always 100% accurate, or even 80% accurate. Some IPs trace to the middle of a lake or river, or someplace you really wouldn't think had access to the internet. Others will point right to a person's front yard, revealing their home address and the car they drive. Many of my players I have asked say it shows exactly where they live if it is not extremely close.

They think its fun and games. Its actually quite alarming considering they're almost all young kids, many of which are completely neglected. One girl on our servers wants to run away from her parents to come live with me and my wife (though we do wish we could help her somehow, and we'd rather she talk to us than whoever her 20-something online boyfriend of the month might be. ) All the time I think "Wow, its a good thing I'm not a bad guy." --but then I realize there are tens of thousands of servers just like mine. These kids are not shy at all and many will do or say anything to curry the favor of the server's administrators.

After being contacted by a parent on our Facebook page regarding a stalker, we have been making efforts to prohibit online relationships between players... you know, "omg ur cute be my online gurlfren plox!" No terms of endearment or anything like that is allowed. I've had to ban several people for calling my 8 year old stepdaughter "babe" or threatening to give her a "belly *****" among other depravities. None of it really helps. If we tell someone to stop or ban them, they will take it to Skype. They ALL use Skype. Every day kids are asking me for my Skype info so they can webchat with me and act like its some great honor to talk to the server owner. I refuse, wondering what their parents would think if they were talking to a strange bearded man who sells them pokemon on the internet using their credit cards.

Are these local people that you're running the server for? Why are you hosting for the internet?

Our players live all around the world. Most are from various places in the US, Canada and the UK. Many are from Australia, Brazil and South Korea. I started hosting public servers because I felt like I could do a better job than 99% of the ones I've seen, and I have. Our most popular server, PokeHeaven: Kanto, runs using a combination of popular Minecraft mods such as Pixelmon (Pokemon in Minecraft) and a Forge/Craftbukkit hybrid known as MCPC+ which allows us many helpful utilities.

I also do it because it earns me a decent living-- anywhere between $1000-3000 a month in sales of virtual goods and in-game perks, which I hope to double with the recent release of our second Pixelmon server. I haven't been making much this month though. I'm hoping that will change soon with the coming of the big holidays and tax season. Eventually I hope to run dozens of servers independently, or perhaps connected to one big "hub" server.

The server in my sig is our first server, which is now all but deserted. Our Pixelmon server can be found here if you want to check it out.

It's going great. I know where he is physically located within a 25 mile range. I know what ISP he is running through msot of the time. I know which buisinesses over there are infected and being used as spam points. I know the name and address of at least one sports bar he has sent spam from. I have his phone number, probabable real name, a valid mailing address of some sort, and that his mother probably dislikes Steaks.

What I don't have is anyone that speaks ******* hindu well enough for me to convey that information in a meaningful way to Indian law enforcement and or ISP officialls who actually give a ****. Because most of them apperently don't. Finding the ******* isn't a problem. It's getting anyone to do anything about him that is the issue.

It's hard to bribe someone over the phone who doesn't speak the same language as you. Holding the money up to the phone reciever just doesn't do the trick.

Have you considered calling the American Embassy over there and seeing if they can help, or at the least translate for you?

Should see if they'll cover the bribe, they gotta have some discretionary funds or something.

I'm betting that their English will improve rapidly when you mention money.
