I fully expect to be flamed and duly ridiculed for what I am about to ask, however, it's driving me nuts.

Who the hell are you people?

Am I safe to assume that you all play/have played EQ?

Thank you, drive thru.

Yes. We're all crazy current or former everquest players (or in a few cases other games here)

You have entered the OoT zone, prepare to be assymilated!

Just found this forum, so I suppose this is as good a time as any to say hello to you all. Semi-retired EQ player here and last of a dying breed- hardcore casual players (yes, I've played for 4 years and still not hit level 60).
So ahh, anyway, hello and good day and that's who the hell I am in short.

I'm Angua, Queen of Chaos. Nice to meet you. And who might you be?

Played EQ for about 3 1/2 years, then quit. Ended up here because these folks are just sooooo amazingly cool and witty. That and they put up with my stupid ****.

Welcome to the board, AbAdor. =) Don't let them scare you off.

I took up EQ about a month after it started, played for a couple of years as an obnoxious shaman troll named Pusbag on the Druzzil Ro server, quit, came back briefly to the FV server at the request of Tacosid, got necro named Rednec up to 50-something and promptly burnt out again. The folks were great fun, but it took such a large chunk of my off week that I was neglecting more important matters.

I lurked here (back on the old OOT board actually) for about six months before I went and registered just so I could refute much of the liberal nonsense Smasharoo was trumpeting and haven't left. During that time I had a journal that Pusbag was keeping, but it eventually got dusty from a lack of use.

I fly a helicopter out in central California for a hospital which allows me a ton of time to hang out here and post endlessly about a lot of nothing.

These are good old souls here-- even the ones I don't agree with on anything. I haven't met any of them in person even though I live quite near several of them, but given the opportunity I'd buy them a beer and we'd have a good laugh. We bash each other endlessly for sport. So if you are ridden mercilessly like a rented Grand Canyon mule, take it as an initiation ritual and don't take offense. Everyone gets their turn.

Never ever played it. Came sniffing around in order to understand my SO's fascination with EQ, and found the OOT forum more addictive than the game.

Ah. Thanks for the insight. I spend a lot of time at work goofing off, and read the boards quite a bit. I must say, you (everyone) amuse me highly.

I played EQ for 2 years about 5 years ago. I've been out of the loop for so long, that my prized possession back in the day was a totemic bp. Lol.

Carry on, and I'll peek in on you all to make sure you are all behaving....as close to behaving as possible, anyway.
