With this mask you can charge your cell phone by breathing. The mask has miniature wind turbine in it.

I bet we could collect fingernail clippings, belly button lint and nose hair for home-extraction of rare earth elements.

Wow, anything from an iPod to an iPhone? Way to spread the spectrum there, Future Mask People! When will I get one for my iPad?

I find this part slightly disturbing:

He says that his aim is to reduce the carbon footprint by bringing this concept into production.

Call me a crazy conspiracy theorist, but wouldn't the best way to reduce the carbon footprint be to get people to wear this while sleeping, then have it programed to shut off the air? Presto! You stop producing carbon dioxide and the earth is saved!

It's right up their with the plot to get everyone dependent on turn-by-turn direction devices so they can just direct people to the Soylent factory whenever there's a shortage of food (or just too many people). Insidious!

I heard on the radio earlier this week about floor tiles that would be able to create electricity from the force generated by walking on them. Similar to striking a quartz crystal. The company apparently is using them in the upcoming Olympics as a stress test and is hoping they will be able to generate enough energy to power the lights. This is a much better solution than breathing through miniature turbines. Something you have to wear on your face like that would be more annoying than it's worth.

they are working on ways to integrate those with concrete pavement slabs too. so far they have been too fragile to stand up to the abuse of freeway traffic though.

Ya, the report mentioned hoping to be able to use them in city sidewalks, etc. Imagine a place like Time Square gathering all the foot traffic to power the advertisement displays and street lighting.

I think there was a school (don't remember where) that had a hallway with the tiles as an initial test.

It's the vacuum from Varus's departure that has gotten to his head and made him go super crazy lately. Not that he was the most stable person out there but at least Varus took care of the durka-durka posts for Gbaji. Now he has to cover those too and it is getting to him. Smiley: frown

Also, I want it to be able to charge a rail gun.

There's nothing more embarrassing than unsightly blemishes when trying to shoot a target in another timezone.

You could easily add a hepa-filter to the turbine mask and protect your self from air-borne germs and particulates while also collecting energy.

Furthermore I'm sure the mask could be produced in lots of shapes and colors to keep up with even the very latest fashion trends.
