The UCSB murders last weekend are generating lots of bloggery and twitterage about misogyny.

Elliot Rogers, the guy who went on the deadly rampage, was a known woman-hater, in fact, his 'day of retribution' was basically a plan to kill all the mean bratty spoiled women of Isla Vista.

In the aftermath feminists speak out and in reply pompous men speak back and mentally ill advocates feel slighted.

I'm trying to formulate a question here but haven't really nailed it.

I was thinking about it though as I was reading an article about this woman who posted a picture of her derriere on instagram. She had little undies on - it wasn't ****. She's a larger girl though. Lots of womens shapely buns splash across screens, but her buns were found to be 'offensive' by Instagram who then removed the picture (they later apologized to the woman and allowed the picture back). HERE is the offending picture.

It was the public comments of disapproval of this picture from other women that kind of shocked and awed me. Ok, I'm not really shocked and awed by internet article comments, but some lesser emotion registered - I think it was disappointment.

Speaking of women, what do you think of this hair-cut?

It's mullety, but I like it and I think my hair could do that. I've a cut scheduled for this afternoon. Is it time to bring back the 'shag'?

This thread is a little incoherent, but I imagine it'll pick up when someone pops in to deny the existence of sexism.

Elliot Rogers was a narcissist who thought the world owed him everything because he was awesome so obviously. His hatred of women was just one of many hatreds. His shooting spree was just one of many plans, including his plan to kill his roommates, kidnap good looking men and torture them to death. I think he also spent a lot of time talking **** about and planning to kill rich kids.

Thanks, Poldaran, that's probably close enough to kick things off.

Does she have a ponytail round the back? It looks fine, but there are cooler things you can do with hair.

That's what I'm hoping too.

Also, the haircut. I'm getting mixed reactions to it here at work with opinions, without exception, being split by gender (the men like it, the women don't).

Yeah, I'm sure someone will take my annoyance that this is being made into an ideological issue rather than taking it as the work of a messed up little narcissistic ******* with numerous problems as denying sexism.

Can't it be a narcissist or psychopath that was affected by sociological ideology?

Or, is gun control really the issue that should have the public's attention here? Who cares if a few crazies hate on women as long as they can't get their hands on lethal weapons.

You've probably been snubbed by women once or twice. Did you ever want to blame them for not liking you?

I'd say "trying too hard" except that it doesn't look as though you're trying at all Smiley: frown

I've somehow managed to avoid this story almost entirely. All I know is that some "kid" (young adult) killed some other people and I guess the catalyst beyond obvious mental issues was his being a virgin and hating women for it?

Realistically, I probably care less about someone being deranged if their ability to act on it is curtailed. Generally speaking of course (again, don't know much about this specific case).

See, you're asking 'do you like this haircut?' but the question people hear is 'would you like to have sex with this woman?'

What a hetero-normative workplace, jeeze.

I'm not a fan of the haircut. Wouldn't make me cancel my coffee date with Ms. Johansson of course but it's not doing anything for me.

He should have leveraged that towards getting some lass a slot as an extra. Man, what a goon.

A LGBT Activist high school friend of mine posted something about it, with a link to some person interviewed on Fox News that said the shooting spree was because the man was secretly gay and couldn't cope with his gay feelings, or something like that. First I had really heard of it, but I've been on vacation the last few weeks and haven't done much beyond binge on Netflix series, cleaning around my house and yard, and playing some LEGO games I've been meaning to get around to.

Neither can people from Tennessee if you're any indication.

I like the top part of the cut but I'd do away with the raggedy wisps in back.

I can't help but think it's look better without the heavy eye liner and really heavy blush.

1) The haircut looks like it one of those random gravity defying things that belong in a video game. Like maybe on Paine...

2) I just don't get the butt thing.

3) Mentally disturbed guy was mentally disturbed, that's as much as I've read into it.
