Thread title keeps making me think of this.

One of the better "making of an album while the bad disintegrates" documentaries in recent years about this album. Your post made me think of it. Then my post made someone want to destroy the world and it all ended in tears. Anyway, worth watching.

Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

Noam too.

The end of the world can be a celebration of the human being. No tears. Maybe a pub crawl.

In latest news: 4chan is latest "casualty" of #gamergate controversy after apparent ties between Moot and someone at Gawker lead to 4chan censoring posts about #gamergate.

Edit: If I remember when I get home from work, I'll find something more concrete on that to link for the lazy. Only posting what I heard on a Youtube hangout and haven't had time to read anything about it.

If 4chan is dead it's more likely a consequence of, yet more, celebrity nude photos getting posted.

Maybe Zam will pick up some lost and mourning forumers from their demise.

It's not dead. Not exactly. But, from what I can gather, there's a fairly major exodus after Moot began censoring GamerGate posts. I haven't found one centralized article. I'm just picking things up here and there in bits and pieces, so nothing big enough worth linking, especially since most things I'm trying to open end up being deleted threads and such. At this point, I don't have a single fully verified source, so take everything with a grain of salt.

From what I've managed to gather thus far, Moot went to Venice with a woman who works for either Gawker or a PR firm that works with them. Sometime after that, a bunch of mods at 4chan got booted, assuming I'm understanding that right. Those that remain have been supposedly told to squash GamerGate posts.

It really doesn't have anything to do with celeb nudes as far as I can tell, since you brought it up.

Edit: I doubt we'll see any new folks from there over here, since they've already created a new place for themselves. Some previous posters may come back, though.

Yeah, but as long as you use google-appropriate words you can talk about #gamersgate til the cows come home.

#Gamergate, unless you mean the Sweden-based digital games retailer best known for their price glitches.

Poor Gamersgate, I wonder if all this has had any effect on them good or ill

Does that still hold if it's just a picture of a thousand words?

Well, Cracked has largely transitioned out of the "humor" business and into the "social justice/awareness" scene if their articles are any guide.

That's not a Gamergate/4chan comment but a 'Cracked isn't funny these days' comment

Yeah, I stopped reading them a while back when I realized I wasn't really laughing either.

It really kinda is. Anyway, here are a couple more things tangentially related that maybe at least one person will find interesting.

A list of almost every game journalist following the GameJournoPros mailing list. I hesitate to link Breitbart, but one of their folks has been following the whole Gamergate thing and reporting on stuff for weeks.

Controversial community manager blocks Kickstarter backers from following Mighty No. 9, tweets about it.

I still prefer the "make everything into a jpeg" thing over the "make everything into a youtube video" thing.

I tend to skip both as both take something relatively simple (reading) and make it either a hassle to read (giant cobbled together images) a hassle to absorb at all (have to find time to watch a video, listen at the host's pace instead of my reading pace, etc).

They're called "words", people. They've worked since the dawn of civilization.

Ironicly enough the ones that bug me the most are the ones that have nothing to really watch. Sound at work is problematic, and sound at home is usually drowned out with background noise. That means anything with someone standing there talking into a webcam for 15 minutes is pretty much meaningless to me. There's a point you wonder why someone is even making it into a video.

Youtube is best used for cats jumping into windows and stuff.
