I think thats on the next ballot here in MA, but we legalized medicinal pot years ago & not 1 dispensary has opened yet. I think when we do legalize it, your friendly neighborhood pot dealer will still be the best method of scoring ganja.

Funny thing is we basically decriminalized under an ounce the same time we legalized medicinal so you can't really get busted for possession so really we're just losing out on tax revenue in the interim.

When did they stop handing out stickers after you vote? The best part of voting is going to work and silently judging the people who don't have a sticker.

Edit: grammar bad is my.

The Communist News Network has Rauner as the projected winner 51-46.

Don't be modest; Democrats are pretty great at drawing up some ridiculous congressional districts, too.

Looks like our governor retained her seat. Unofficially with roughly 58% of the vote, which is fairly high for Dem-leaning NM.

My mom is pissed off.

Yeah, that was a rout. Quinn deserved to lose though. Be good news for Kirk perhaps in 2016.

Interestingly, all of the Illinois ballot initiatives passed. So the voters decided to
-- Raise the minimum wage from $8.25 to $10 an hour
-- Put a 3% tax on incomes over $1,000,000 to be used for education
-- Require health insurance plans to cover birth control
-- Expand (crime) victims rights in the state constitution
-- Expand voting rights in the state constitution

...and voted for a Republican governor who has none of that as his agenda. The same thing across the country, really. I think all of the minimum wage referendums passed, "personhood" amendments in CO and ND failed, the only loss was a FL ballot question to allow medical marijuana and that still got 58% of the vote but needed 60% to pass.

Here's a more expansive list. I see that the divine right to fuck with bears has been protected in Maine.

I feel like there's been a death in the family. I can't talk about it, as it makes it real.

I hear time will dull the pain.

North Dakota voters defeated a measure to create a legal presumption that each parent is a fit parent and entitled to be awarded equal parental rights by a court (per HuffPo).

Men's Rights are being denied!

Cuomo won 54:40, and yes on the three proposals. I, for one, was absolutely shocked by these revelations this morning. And the Empire State Building was lit red last night, because apparently people walking around at midnight really needed to know who has control of the senate.

What a bizarrely worded question. At least their "personhood" amendment also failed.

I don't know if you mean the actual amendment or the Huffington Post's summary of it. Anyway, I was really just making a Men's Rights joke. I'm dangerously close to violating the forum's cross-thread posting policies...

Great night for the GOP establishment. After two cycles of failing to take the senate solely due to nominating Tea Party novices who say dumb shit, the establishment got the people it wanted and took the thing.

I can't wait for the very very important investigations that will determine the 2016 race to begin. I heard there is evidence that Hillary took two pennies from the "take a penny leave a penny" jar at a 7-11. Did you not see the word "A" madam Secretary?

I thought the whole 'legal presumption' wording sounded pretty weird for legal-speak. I believe that was in the actual wording of the ballot measure.

It is particularly weird in that, in legal terms, it would basically force judges to document evidence indicating one parent was better suited to custody, which is a ******* insane standard to apply to family court cases. It should be noted that, nowhere in the country, is there currently a standard that presumes the mother is a better starting point for guardianship. Because that would be wildly illegal. It probably works de facto that way for many judges, but codifying either that or this would be goofy and heavy handed. Not even sure who had anything at stake with this measure.
