The Supreme Court ruled that a county clerk in Kentucky does, indeed, have to issue same sex marriage licenses even if she has a religious objection.

If they want to continue to pretend to argue that this is about tradition, then everyone else should point out that traditionally when we disagree with our government's religious progression we're a nation of people that get out of the country and kill a bunch of indigenous people.

I stopped reading after "married four times". Apparently she is defying the court on religious grounds, because God's law is higher than the Supreme Court's.

It's not like you're freeing slaves, here, honey.

Did anyone mention the Pokemon World Championship in Boston a couple of weeks ago? The one where two people threatened to off a bunch of people on social media and were arrested for having a couple of firearms and lots of bullets? They're being held without bail, because apparently "If they were going to kill a bunch of people like they said they would on Facebook, why would they leave the weapons in the car?" wasn't a very compelling argument.

I wonder if Nintendo will actually comment on it.

The article itself seemed to be grasping at straws but, if it makes someone feel better to think that a pixel glob is transgender, meh.

To be fair though, I was never a Nintendo gamer so I have zero affection or nostalgia for Metroid or its characters.

Someone asked one of the other devs about it a while back and it sounds like the intention is that she's "half-woman", as in "part alien". Which fits with the whole Chozo thing.

Edit: Lulz.

How about them Georgia cops who entered the wrong house, killed the dog, shot the homeowner as he entered the room, and also managed to shot one of the cops?

I'm at the point of not reading up on the latest cop killing oopsie. As to the transgender pixel of Nintendo's, I'm reminded of a lightbulb moment I had recentishly over 'Tickle-Me Elmo'. Remember when
Sesamie St introduced a puppet with AIDS... Because back then there was a real problem with USA children with HIV or AIDS being shunned and recoiled from at at school, and never being physically touched, not even by family members.

A bunch of us liberal Aussies were recentishly sitting around and people were saying "What does it matter if Bert and Ernie are g a y ?" - as Sesamie St officially asserted a while back.

I thought about the one example I knew of Sesamie St doing social engineering before: with Elmo the boy with AIDS. And I sufdenly realised why the stores used to be full of the one and only liscenced Sesamie St doll in Australia. An Elmo doll that laughed when you tickled it; giving the gift of free and fearless touch to a symbolic little boy riddled with AIDS.

Sorry format mess; on phone

I didn't remember the Sesame Street thing at all but I guess it was sort of overblown and misreported.
Muppet Wiki wrote:
In 2002, Sesame Workshop announced that an HIV-positive character would be introduced to the cast of Takalani Sesame, the South African co-production of Sesame Street. This idea was considered crucial for the area where AIDS is an epidemic. The HIV-positive character, Kami, was designed to help the promote tolerance and reduce the stigmas associated with HIV/AIDS. Kami is a furry yellow five-year-old Muppet who contracted the disease as the result of a tainted blood transfusion she received as an infant. Aside from appearing in the South African co-production, Kami also appears in Sesame Square, the Nigerian co-production of Sesame Street.

However media reports at that time of Kami's initial introduction gave many the impression that this character was proposed for the American version of the program. [...]
Despite the erroneous reports that Sesame Street was planning to introduce an HIV-positive character to American viewers, Sesame Workshop never intended on launching such a character in the United States. Robert Knezevic, vice president of international co-productions for Sesame Workshop, stated that "categorically, there are no plans to put this Muppet on the American 'Sesame Street.' I think this story kind of ran away."

The official Word From God via the Childrens Television Workshop is that Bert & Ernie are puppet, not humans, and thus do not have any sexuality, homosexual or otherwise. They are just good friends.

Speaking of Australia, Mad Max is a pretty sweet game and optimized like a beast. Like, Alien: Isolation sort of optimization.

Some of the more negative reviews have been pretty funny; my favorite was someone bitching that it didn't adequately portray a realistic dystopian wasteland. 'Cause, you know, that movie where you have a giant speaker truck with flamethrower guitar gimp in your war band and where you distribute water by dumping 100,000 gallons of it into the dirt once a week was a documentary.

You've clearly never been to New Jersey.

Looks like it was caused by a credible yet ridiculously vague call and a overly affectionate big dog running up to them.
