Have you ever had someone randomly buy you something from an online store's wishlist?

I usually add stuff to my wishlists just so I can keep track of things I want, or may want. I don't ever expect anyone to buy me something from them.

My brother received a package yesterday, UPS. Completely unexpected. It's from some UK seller through Amazon that deals in candies and sweets. It was six of those chocolate oranges, the ones you smack on something and they break off little chocolate wedges, and they taste of orange oil. Someone just randomly purchased them as a gift through Amazon for him. He's got no idea who, but he checked his email and confirmed that there was a gift purchase.

I jokingly complained that strangers don't buy me random stuff on Amazon, and of course he pointed out that just the day before I had redeemed a Bing Rewards card for $5 Amazon Gift card and some Disney Reward points (I bought a bunch of Studio Ghibli movies) for a couple free DVD/Bluray discs.

Well, I've had people buy me cheap stuff off my Steam list around the holidays but that's because I chat with a bunch of people who regularly give away keys and buy other people cheap stuff for lulz.

Aside from that, I don't have any online wishlists because I'm not a 15 year old girl trolling for creepy dudes to buy me shit.

I have received many things from various people on the internet because I am a 15 year old girl trolling for creepy dudes to buy me shit.

I've received a lot of books, some pretty good teas, imported alcohol, envelopes of cash, a dog collar, and a boxed set of Firefly.

I had a coworker a few years back buy me an Xbox360 just so I would play Gears of War 2 with him. He actually bought things for me and lots of other coworkers all the time, come to think of it. His generosity became somewhat contagious, because before long everyone who worked there was buying each other expensive gifts on special occasions and sometimes for no particular reason.

As for online friends and strangers, I've received plenty of gifts via Steam and through the mail, and have sent out quite a few to people myself. It wasn't a gift so much as a prize, but I remember once winning a nifty Vana'diel clock from right here on Alla for some reason I don't even remember. It's just good feels all around. We should totally start buying each other stuff. You go first.

I've bought a few games on peoples Steam wishlists when I see them on sale or feel I have to many GabeN Bux saved up. I've always been someone who doesn't minded giving when I have the extra to spare. Other than that I mainly pawn off extra bundle game keys to people that I have, which is sorta giving right. But I think most of us on this board do that in a certain thread.

I never do that, and I look down on those who do.
