Sounds like it's Pence for Trump's VP.

You may remember him as the guy who signed the LBGT bill in Indiana that caused a ton of boycotts and then backpedaled on it and pissed off a bunch of conservatives without actually making the first group happier.

I guess the, quote unquote, logic behind that would be something along the lines of why bother balancing the ticket when you can knock it the hell over?

I think the logic was that an unpopular governor from a state the GOP should win without trying was actually the least insane and most plausible person willing to take the job.

Remember that star-studded and winner-filled GOP convention we were promised, chock full of famous sports stars and amazing people?
The RNC wrote:
Monday: Make America Safe Again
Headliners: Melania Trump, Lieutenant General (ret.) Michael Flynn, U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Jason Beardsley and U.S. Rep. Ryan Zinke (Mont.).

Tuesday: Make America Work Again
Headliners: Tiffany Trump, Kerry Woolard, Donald Trump, Jr., U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (WV), Ben Carson and Kimberlin Brown.

Wednesday: Make America First Again
Headliners: Lynne Patton; Eric Trump; former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Newt Gingrich, and Indiana Governor Mike Pence, whom Donald Trump has chosen as his vice presidential running mate.

Thursday: Make America One Again
Headliners: Peter Thiel, Tom Barrack, Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump

That would be five Trumps speaking (Tiffany Trump -- who?). And no Tebow, Ditka, Knight or Paul Ryan, McConnell, Cruz, Walker... but we get Tom Barrack (he founded Colony Capital! You know... the Colony Capital guy?) and soap opera star Kimberlin Brown!

Seriously? What the serious fuck? Smiley: laugh

Oh, and apparently Scott Baio will speak. You know, Chachie.
Daily Beast wrote:
“I was at a fundraiser for Mr. Trump the other night with my wife, and he invited me to speak at the convention—which was completely unexpected and out of left field. I mean, he had given a speech and he was walking out and I looked at him and I said, ‘Mr. Trump, Scott Baio…,’ and he said, ‘Oh my god!’ And he said to me, ‘Do you want to speak?’ and I said, ‘Here?’ and he goes, ‘No, no, at the convention!’ And I went, ‘Ugh… o…okay,’ and we went inside the house where the fundraiser was.”

That is truly pathetic, even with the proposed "celebrity" line up. This guy is a true embarrassment. As long as Hillary doesn't say or do anything stupid, I am thinking she will do much better than what the polls are saying. People underestimated her in the primaries against Sanders and I think it will happen again in the fall. This is especially true if his role out is any indication on how the rest of his campaign will be.

Clinton is back at +5.66 based on the ABC/WP, NBC/WSJ and CNN polls released this morning. Decent news for the campaign after last week's more lackluster polling in the wake of the FBI findings.

Edit: I had to look up who in the world Lynne Patton. She is the Vice President of The Eric Trump Foundation. Oh, and she's black so I guess she's there to make Carson look less token because there's no way in hell anyone ever said "You know who would be a great draw for a prime time speaking slot? Lynne Patton, Vice President of The Eric Trump Foundation!"

Also noted: No Chris Christie on the lineup? They have Pence listed so it's not a "playing coy with who'll be VP" thing -- they just don't have Christie slotted.

Semi-Official DNC Headliners:
The DNC wrote:
Monday: United Together
Featuring First Lady Michelle Obama, Senator Bernie Sanders and DREAMer Astrid Silva

Tuesday: A Lifetime of Fighting for Children and Families
Featuring President Bill Clinton and Mothers of the Movement
The Mothers of the Movement participating include Gwen Carr, Mother of Eric Garner; Sybrina Fulton, Mother of Trayvon Martin; Maria Hamilton, Mother of Dontré Hamilton; Lucia McBath, Mother of Jordan Davis; Lezley McSpadden, Mother of Michael Brown; Cleopatra Pendleton-Cowley, Mother of Hadiya Pendleton; Geneva Reed-Veal, Mother of Sandra Bland.

Wednesday: Working Together
Featuring President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden (traditionally, I believe this is also where the VP nominee would speak)

Thursday: Stronger Together
Hillary Clinton and Chelsea Clinton

First off, who was the lazy jamoke who couldn't come up with a --Together theme for Tuesday? Pairing Bill Clinton with MotM speakers is interesting; Clinton's crime bill was a source for debate in the primaries so I guess this is supposed to help soften it.

Seems like a thin list to fill out the time and I'm guessing they'll be plugging some more senators and governors into the list before it's go-time. I doubt Obama and Biden are supposed to fill three hours by themselves. Since Clinton hasn't announced a VP pick yet, you wouldn't see Warren, Perez, Kaine, etc in slots yet but you can't tell me that Warren won't be speaking and would pas son the opportunity to tear into Trump for thirty minutes of prime time television.

Wtf? I don't think anyone "underestimated Hilary" in the primaries.

1. The polls have been bouncing every week. I was wrong about the FBI. I thought that would be a boost, but the criticism that came out of that (to prevent looking biased) was strong enough to hurt her.
2. Hopefully Lynne is less embarrassing to the black race.
3. Sources said that Christie threatened to drop F bombs if he didn't get his way at the previous convention. I assume that he first didn't want to look embarrassed by being a loser. Second, I assume that he wanted more attention than earned.

Last week, sources said that Warren was speaking on Monday, fueling the talk that she was not the VP pick.

I'm not sure how well you were following the primaries, but the combination of Sanders record breaking crowds, string of multiple state victories and close polls had many people thinking that Sanders had a chance. She outperformed in a number of states.

Putting Warren on the same night as Sanders feels like double-dipping but I guess her theme fits either there or on Wednesday night and if Obama, Biden and VP-To-Be-Named are speaking then there's not a lot of oxygen left for her.

Bernie supporters and Trump supporters who insisted that Bernie being in second place in a field of two meant he was doing amazingly well.

After all the jokes at Trump's expense for his Trump-Pence logo and silliness at the convention, it's only fair to ask who thought this sign was a good visual for Democrats to speak behind.

Filled out RNC schedule.

They have Ryan, McConnell, McCarthy and Christie on there now but none in a prime time slot. But they made room for the VP of Trump Winery while everyone is watching.
