That doesn't show validity of O'Keffe's videos, it shows the GOP's willingness to use edited videos to advance their agenda. Sorta like with PP, dontchaknow.
Ah... The well loved "it's an edited video" excuse. You guys love that one. When the fully unedited version provides the same conclusions about the wrongness of what is being done, the fact that it was "edited" to reduce the viewing time by removing unimportant parts, doesn't invalidate it. You'd be hard pressed to find *any* video that isn't edited in some way (especially youtube videos), so just proclaiming it "edited" is meaningless.
Man, you'll always run to a review you can cherry pick instead of using the original source, huh?
Every source says the same thing Joph. The point wasn't about Sherrod, but about the NAACP. This is clearly stated in the blog where the original video was contained. The fact that most people just watched the video on youtube instead of going to the source blog isn't my fault, and certainly does not change the motivation contained in the original blog.
We already had this conversation (which you linked). You were wrong then, and you're even more wrong bringing it back up today. For what? To show that liberal institutions are rife with racism, discrimination, and abuse of power? That's the pattern here. Nit picking what was said in response is kinda silly, isn't it? You're playing context and word games, while ignoring the bigger picture.
Even if we accept every single thing you're saying (and I'm not), how does that change anything? Even if there was a false claim in the video about Sherrod being racist, does that change the fact that the reaction from the crowd most definitely *was* racist? That claim was not false. The NAACP reaction was not falsely represented.
Similarly, how does O'Keefe lying to set up his videos, and OMGZ maybe trespassing or whatnot, change the facts contained within those videos? It doesn't. We still have members of ACORN admitting that they violated a number of rules and laws. They admitted to abusing the power they were given, for what was quite obviously politically aligned purposes. The list of things revealed about that operation were pretty shocking (and longer than I feel like going into detail here). But all you're doing is finding some minor reason to dismiss it as nothing? You're kidding right? Why do that except so as to circle the wagons. It's ridiculous.
We have videos of PP members admitting to shopping their prices for tissues. We have them admitting to selecting their surgical methods so as to maximize that tissue harvesting. We have evidence of them looking the other way when teen girls were being molested and abused by family members. We have video of them doing nothing when presented with an underaged prostitute and her pimp showing up to get her an abortion. How the videos were obtained, or whether they had permission to take (that's a pretty weak counter, right?) them kinda shouldn't matter here. These are all cases of activities that should raise massive alarm bells. But instead, it seems like the Left's reaction its to provide more and more cover and protection for the organization.
No matter how you feel about abortion, you should not feel good about Planned Parenthood. I'm not sure how anyone can defend them.
That was when you insisted that he never called her a racist, he only said that she discriminates against people due to their race
When commenting on her relating a story that occurred in the past. In that part of the story, she was discriminating against someone due to their race. As I said back then, there's some torturous tense bending going on, so blame him (his staff, whatever) for bad grammar, but I find it amusing that you're apparently still trying to carry this flag around for some reason.
Again, whatever false allegations may have been leveled against Sherrod because of the video (and regardless of who did it, mostly a lazy media rehashing the youtube without reading the blog it came from), the larger and main point about the NAACP crowd reaction is still true.
We're still left with a long and consistent pattern of liberal organizations engaging in bad behavior. And an equally long and consistent pattern of rank and file liberals desperately finding any excuse they can to defend or ignore it.
