For me, it's there on my home page as soon as I open my browser-- neatly lined up beside seven other bookmarks I visit the most frequently. I don't think I've ever even seen the rest of Zam outside of the Cross Site forum section and the dreaded land of Moogle-fuckery.

Bookmarks to zam.com/forum stopped working and just go to a generic 404 page. You had to know to change them to legacy.zam.com

That's odd. My bookmark uses this address:

http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=28

--and from there I have access to everything like nothing happened. I'm not even quite sure what you all are talking about with this redirect stuff.

Yes, if you're coming from a game specific domain (wow.zam, ffxi.zam, eq.zam, etc) then it still works. If you were using the main site (http://www.zam.com/forum) then it no longer works.

I guess I just never had any reason to visit the main site. I've just been using the same link I always have for more than a decade.

My book mark and home page is set to

https://everquest.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=4

Only problem I been having is having to refresh the page when I open my browser.

I find the main skin to be less visually offensive than all the other game specific skins.

I use the EQ skin at home out of inertia but use the main ZAM skin at the office because the blues and greys are pretty unobtrusive and don't call attention to themselves.

Same thought crossed the mind here. Nice to see things still twitching.

So of all people, I ended up having a brief conversation with Zam's new editor in chief on reddit yesterday evening. Part of a sarcastic reply I made in a thread linking a ZAM article. Anyway, as part of the conversation I was given a link back to the legacy forum pages and mentioned there was still a community here. All things aside it was nice to hear someone acknowledge we're still around; took me by surprise at least. Wasn't expecting it after the changes that had been made in the front page format.

So you can find a link to the legacy.zam.com/forums, you just need to go to Reddit to do so?

So it seems... though it probably helps if you identify yourself as a salty ex-writer and reminisce about what this place used to be. Smiley: rolleyes

That said they're also looking for freelancers to write gaming articles for them in exchange for money.

Haven't you heard? The kiddies are all about the comment sections these days. Forums just aren't cool anymore. If you want to be hip you need stuff in reverse-chronological order.

I find the comments section on LiveLeak to be slightly comparable to what went on here... unfortunately there are a LOT more varuswords there...

quite sad, yes.. It all started with wanting to tell people that the chick singing in a cheesy 80s Baltimore promotional ad was a 16 year old Tori Amos... Yes.. I made an account JUST for that...

Their trollings still hold no candle to you ****.
