Yeah, it was pretty lackluster. Also, we need to keep tabs on how many times Rory dies. I'm pretty sure this is at least the third.

Rory is also a timelord :P that explains Everything! Actually kinda creepily it almost makes sense, almost.

There is definitely something strange with Rory. Even after Amy brought back the universe, and all the inhabitants, he remembers everything of the 2000 or so years he spent guarding Amy while she was in the Pandorica. But he was a robot then, not the real Rory. So the current Rory is a combination of the Old Rory and Robot Rory.

Also, I wonder if the weird little fat guy, what'd they call him, the Dreamlord? will come back. Who was actually the Doctor's subconcious...

I'm with Karlina, the new season started out pretty slowly. It's just always a matter of saving the entire world from invasion, or it just feels that way anyway, there's just no variety in the show seemingly. And the pirate episode wasn't that bad, just not really interesting.

Perhaps the Doctor needs to get off of Earth, roam the universe, have some adventures where it's not constantly about global damnation.

Either that or I'm being a bit too cynical.

I thought the third episode was ok, but nothing too special, basically like many of last season's episodes. However, The preview at the end makes me impatient about waiting for the next one considering the doctor seems to have been informed of the existence of another timelord, which seems pretty exciting and could shed some light on the situation with the apparent timelord child.

All in all, I'm just hoping that the rest of the season will be great.

Well, technically, a couple of seasons ago, I believe it was Tennant who got cloned, got a sort of female daughter who is still roaming the universe, I don't believe she's been reintroduced.

I forgot about that. That's definitely plausible.

I don't watch the show or anything, but a friend of mine does, and she thinks Amy's kid is really River.

She did give me the first season of the "reboot" (or so she called it, it's the Dr. just before Tennant) so I can start watching. :D

That idea of your friends is REALLY awesome! What a twist!

So you are starting the 2005 season with Chris Eccleston? I think this will be cryptic enough to tell you. I think that the "Rose and the Heart of the Tardis" moment at the end of that series is the best moment of all the wonderful and amazing moments in Dr Who.

I think that's the one. She said he was only in one season, and he's her favorite, and wishes he had sone more than one season. Eccleston sounds right...

Well, if it's the one before Tennant, that's the one. I haven't seen that season yet myself (will be starting it when I have time this summer), but I find it fascinating that she likes him so much; everyone else I know didn't like him very much. Then again, there is that whole "your first doctor is your favorite" phenomenon, so that probably has something to do with it.

He was my first Doctor, but he's not my favorite. He was however, very good, and I would have liked to see him go more than one season.

This! He was my first Doctor, and my favorite until Matt Smith came around.

Tom Baker was my first doctor, really. I saw previous ones, but I was really too young to remember much about them. Tom Baker is indisputably my favourite among the "original series" doctors. The "rebooted" series, starting from 2005, really puts the orignal episodes (1963-1989)in the shade in terms of scriptwriting. There's some utter gem adventures in the olde stuff, but the new stuff (2005-20011) is really more adult at heart, even if it's still PG rated.

Chris Ecclestone (2005 Doctor Who) chose to do only one season, because he didn't want to get irresolvably typecast as the Doctor, like Tom Baker did. David Tennant is probably my favourite Dr Who overall, so far. However, Chris Eccleston did a bang up job too. And the 2005 season with CE is one of my favourites because of the truely great scripts, that seriously stretched the Dr Who universe, and critiqued the original premise of the earlier show. And well, there were just bloody good script moments through the whole 2005 CE/Rose Tyler season.

IMO there are bloody good scripts through the David Tennant and Rose Tyler season (2006), and the David Tennant and Donna Noble (2008) season too. While I enjoyed the Martha Jones season well enough (2007), I didn't like it as much as the others. The best of that season was the very first "Weeping Angels" episode called "Blink". "Blink" has to be one of the all time best Dr Who episodes.

Matt Smith and Amy Pond are a good Dr/Companion duo (2009-2011), but I don't think they are as wonderful as Chris Ecclestone, David Tennant, Rose Tyler, Donna Noble, the strangely charismatic Professor River Song, and the drop dead gorgeous Jack Harkness.

A special mention must be made for Catherine Tate as Donna Noble. Catherine Tate isn't all that attractive physically, but she managed to make Donna Nobel hypnotically attractive through sheer force of personality. So yeah, my favourite seasons: 2005, 2006, 2008, and the "Blink episode of 2007.

I actually believe that the girl seen in The Impossible Astronaut and Day of the Moon is going to be a Timelord/Human hybrid created (possibly by the Silence, but with the repeated appearance of the "eyepatch lady" I'm not certain) with the Doctor being the father and Amy being the mother. If you remember in "The Lodger" the "TARDIS"-esque ship seen at the end was stated by the Doctor as not being strong enough to be compatible with a Time Lord's mind, but was too strong to be controlled by a human's, so a Time Lord/human hybrid should essentially be the perfect median to control such a ship, which we have in turn seen is at least a technology that the Silence uses.

I believe at some later point in the series, Amy might be sent back in time, where she's artificially impregnated, has the child, raises it in the "orphanage", then is sent forward in time again with all but a trace of her memory wiped, and the Silence has the astronaut suit created to support the child's life functions while she's growing up, so that they can use her Time Lord/human mind to control the ships we've seen. This would explain why the TARDIS is unable to determine if Amy is pregnant, why there are images of her in that orphanage with the child when she can't remember it happening, and why the child eventually is shown regenerating at the end of Day of the Moon.

Or, the girl can be The Master reborn! You saw how good he looked in those dresses in The End of Time.

I liked how he was her "Thief".

I did like this episode much better than the black spot episode.

I liked how she was HIS Thief!

"I wanted to travel, so I stole a Timelord. You were the only one mad enough to go."

Also the twice repeated: "I just wanted to say to you: Hello."

He's seemingly more eccentric, I quite like him to be honest. Tennant was good, but Smith is better. (just imo ofcourse)

This episode was the best of the season so far, a nice change of pace from most other episodes.
