Eh, I suppose. I kind of think that she's been rendered irrelevant by the introduction of "Young Griff" in Dance with Dragons.

Until they get married and retake the Iron Throne astride dragons in book 7!

Maybe, he was saying he wants to kill off some POV characters, though...

Necroing... for the hell of it, really.

Also, I'm re-reading book 5, and HOLY CRAP, I forgot how much I liked it more than book 4 (as I like the characters in book 5: Tyrion, Jon, Daenerys, Asha...)

But more importantly... there's a topic of how the internet separates us. I did not, until tonight, learn of Lindsey Stirling, for example. And now I can't get enough. And know what she did, along with Peter Hollens? An AMAZING opening rendition. Go watch it. Seriously.

Also, send hate mail to George RR Martin, demanding he get the next book done before 2015 Smiley: glare

Ditto. Anything with Tyrion is amazing.

In the past few weeks we watched through the Season 1 twice (once with commentary and then once again without). Then I started rereading from Book 1. Figured I could use the refresher.

Season 3 can't come fast enough. GoT is like the one fiction show that I can be bothered to keep up with on TV nowadays.

I find her, along with the rest of the Greyjoys, pretty interesting. She strikes me as one of the more even-keel characters of the series, which is surprisingly unique. I'm eager to hear more from her.

A little less so for basically everyone in Dorne, though. I can't keep any of those characters straight, as they don't seem to be of any major consequence right now. I suppose I should be patient with them, though, since I sort-of felt the same way about the Greyjoys early in their introduction. Perhaps there's a warming-up process that needs to occur. With such a large compendium of characters, it might be natural to be a little hostile to yet more names, lands, and deeds that need memorizing.

IIRC, Dorne is pretty neglected until the 4th book, and becomes a key plot point in the fifth... until the end Smiley: sly

Is it weird that I straight-up laughed at that scene? I mean it, I really laughed out loud while reading the book.

I suppose I hope that Dorne has a bigger role to play than....uh.....that. Seems like every time one of the characters from there starts to interact with the known commodities of the series, they seem to die rather impotently.

So....season 3 starts 3.31.13, right? Gawd, it can't come soon enough.

I haven't read book 5 yet, so I'm having to be really strong and not peek under your spoiler tags!

I was all resigned to not having new episodes of GoT to watch for most of the year, and now I"m all riled up about it again! OW ! I miss it!

For a black guy, he has the whitest name ever.

And I kinda lied about Dorne being out of the picture by the end of the fifth book. There are four sand snakes to deal with, including the one in Old Town who is pretending to be a boy studying to become a maester.

Yeah don't, they're fairly significant spoilers.

See, I didn't even get that he's black. Shows how much I'm taking in, I guess. I think I sort of picture them all as some kind of middle-eastern, what with the deserts and all.

Except the sand snakes, every one of which I picture as Thandie Newton, a la Chronicles of Riddick.

So the Game of Thrones premiere date is a prank, but only for Europe, eh?

In it's time slot, there will instead be a Treme marathon.

Whelp, season 2 dvd arrived yesterday. I'd like to think it'd tide me over until the next season premiere, but I'll probably burn through all the episodes + commentary over the weekend.
