It being so long between episodes & the fact that I'm a comic fanboy, while being factors, do not take away that this was one of the best episodes of TWD ever.

Surprisingly little AMC vs Dish fight spam. I think I only counted once, and it was during a commercial for that comic book show.
I enjoyed the episode, good start, hoping for more.

Yeah, this was a great season opener. Looking forward to the rest of it! But I'm kind of bummed they didn't kill off Carl over the winter. I still hate that kid.
Carl's gonna get some from Hershel's younger daughter. I laughed when Hershel chased him out of the cell.

I had, what was described to me, as an idiotic grin on my face throughout the episode.
Looks like they replaced Dale's character with Hershel, as far as changes from comic to show goes.

Wow, that was some powerful TV. Even though I knew the ultimate fate of one of the characters that died tonight beforehand Lori, due to following the comics, I think this version was better. From Lori's sacrifice, to what Carl had to do, to Rick's reaction...wow.
As a comic fan, I was most excited about Michonne & the Governor showing up, but they were much less interesting than the other stuff. Holy ****!

Yeah, last night blew me away. I had a couple of tears, which is odd since I don't like either character involved, haha.

I was just starting too, this season.
While Lori's death in the comic was more...brutal (especially since the baby dies too), I felt her death on the show was...I don't know? Honorable? When she dies in the comic, she's pretty much been a moody insufferable @#%^ for awhile. I really liked the build up to "good" Lori over the course of this season, & her death coming when & how it did was a pleasant surprise.

***** it I'll say it: I. LIKED. T-Dog. I realize "Theodore" ('cuz no one knew his damn name!) wasn't a big character in the show necessarily but I honestly have to blame that on the show's writers for sh*tting on him for no real apparent reason other than they just could: Merle beating the hell out of him in the second episode, running from a zombie and cutting his arm open, essentially having no lines. I could go on...
Anyway, I haven't read the comics (though I plan to in the future) but Lori in season two pretty much made me hate her character just for not knowing when to shut up and stop making things worse. Fingers crossed Carl becomes the group badass now.
And how the hell did they come out of Atlanta and he was the only black guy in the group? Sorry, had to ask...

That was a good episode last night. It had pretty much everything, fear, zombie-busting, good plot advancement,.. and a good mix of painful events, triumph and twists. Last week's episode was a bit slow.
Although, with T-Dog's death, it felt like a bit of a placeholder. Somewhat like '1 member from the main group has to die each episode' and he was the easiest to get rid of.
And, what was up with the that little story that Rick was telling about a guy he arrested when he was a rookie. I watched it with CC during the second showing, and he said something along the lines of 'i busted this kid'. Was he speaking of one of the two convicts (white guy and black guy) or did he just pull out that stupid story as some 'all convicts are bad' justification?

Just throwing it out there, but doesn't Carl die in the comics as well? I measure my characters by their longevity in the comics....

Carl Spoiler: He doesn't die, but seems to constantly attract bullets.

I didn't think they'd bring in Penny, or maybe wait much longer but there she was. Zombie World Wrestling is how I would handle the Zombie Apocalypse as well. Either way, for a storyline that was almost 40 books long, they sure are moving at a quick pace.

I thought Penny would have shown up at the end of the last episode, as it would have been more dramatic than the "TV" zombies.

That's Andrea. And yes, at this point you can't be surprised that a woman was worthless in the tv series.
Michonne is showing promise, but barely, and I must admit even I'm surprised Carol survived. Also, I'm surprised they did the big reveal about the phone so soon. They could have drawn that out for a lot longer. Normally I don't like drawn out things, but in this case I think it would have worked out to show his instability.

Oh, I never watch those because I don't want to know what happens the next week until then. Which is an odd thing to say considering I read the comics, but still.

I'm more afraid of the governor than I am of the zombies.
Just finished watching the 6th episode from last week. So far season 3 is a great watch.
Don't like this new Michonne character too much. While her decisions so far make sense I can't stand the way she is acted. This permanent angry facial expression gets on my nerves. Other than that she shows promise. I hope they have a good explanation why she's so adept at sword-fighting.
And hey, I cared about T-Dog! Was not my favorite character but a solid addition to the group. Apart from that one time when he ripped his arm open for no good reason.

Thanks to Amazon Instant Video I'm finally caught up with everyone. I'm loving the fast pace of this year so far. Very little in the way of down time. My thought right now on this season's finale: it will have something to do with Merle sacrificing himself to save Daryl. He's already lied to the Governor about Michonne being dead. The only reason I have for thinking this is from the first season when they went back to get Merle and Daryl said "The only thing that can kill Merle is Merle." That quote just stuck with me. I may be wrong, we'll see.
