That was Pete from Warehouse 13, right?

I thought it strange that the first thing May and Sif thought when they were talking about stealing nitrogen was "Maybe he needs it to breathe?" and "No, only 7 intelligent species require heightened levels of nitrogen gas." Isn't Earth's atmosphere 78% nitrogen? I mean, ya, it turns out that he didn't need it to breathe, but they first thought he did, and threw down the idea not because Earth already has heightened levels of nitrogen gas, but because only a few species actually need it...

Honestly, I kinda like that they don't just automatically go for the cheap tie in. There kinda wouldn't be a reason for a random Kree operative to mention anything specifically related to GotG anyway. The whole mention of factions among the Kree itself serves to provide sufficient hook, given that's basically what was going on in that story anyway *and* it ties into the whole inhuman experiment thing as well. I actually thought it was done well, and with a light touch.
While I don't disagree completely with you, there was a moment when Sif + the agents confront the Kree, where in my opinion it would have fit nicely to mention 'oh now that Ronan is dead, our policy is not that aggressive anymore'.

Similarly, I actually thought it was nice that they averted the classic "heroes fight each other when meeting due to some contrived misunderstanding" trope with Sif's appearance. Worked IMO. Yeah, some people are suckers for the classics, though.

As to Mack? Not sure what's going on there. Something sneaky that likely wont be at all what we think.
Some people think he and Bobby are part of an organization named S.W.O.R.D..

I saw a frumpy looking blue collar guy with a metal stick fighting toe to toe with an Asgardian and my first thought was that it was the Wrecker. Kree was a nice touch, though I think when you consider just all that the team has gone through with them their reaction was a little tepid. Also, we need more scenes of Poots shooting herself in the face. I feel very strongly for this.

Except that Ronan was part of an extreme faction, not the Kree government. The whole plot line to GotG was about Ronan being pissed off because his government was making peace instead of conquering other species like he thought they should. Yeah, I suppose he could have mentioned it, but while the audience would have gotten the reference, the characters would not. The people on Earth know nothing about the events in GotG, so the name Ronan would have been meaningless to them. It would have been a character action that made no sense for the character to make, done purely for the reference to another Marvel product. Which qualifies as "cheap tie in" in my book.

It wouldn't have bothered me much if they'd done it (cause I get the whole marketing angle), but it also doesn't bother me that they didn't.

I'd have personally liked it if it were Dr. Samson as the therapist. That's not to say I didn't like this Original Character Donut Steel, but it's the little touches. Though I did enjoy the Angar the Screamer introduction. The birds were a really nice touch. Really dig obscure references, though tossing in a few well knowns certainly has it's appeal. Anyway, I am hoping that there is an eventual Hyde transformation.

I thought Miss Razor-fingers was stupid. The only solution SHIELD could come up with was permanently capping her whole fingers with immobile full length sleeves? Instead of, I don't know... Breaking off the razors? Or thimbles. Or flexible sleeves that allowed use of at least one finger joint?

Or, you know, just surgically removing the surgically added blades. Heck, you could see the little bolts they were attached to that ran into her fingers. That kinda made me wonder as well. Still a pretty good episode though.

Well, Coulson did say "permanently grafted" so I was just giving options that wouldn't involve "de-grafting" them.

Oh. Well, as long as there was a proper lampshade involved, then everything is fine.

If they had shown the metal parts being part of her hands it would have been better. This did not look like it would be hard to remove.

But the "the real SHIELD" part as well as Mr. NoEyes organization was intriguing and the episode overall entertaining. I hope they don't drag Skye becoming familiar with her powers out too long. As of now it's still okay but I don't want that to be a story arc for 10+ episodes.

I'm happy Kirk Acevedo and James Olmos are on board now although it seems all those S.W.O.R.D. theories are debunked. Skye was.. well Skye. I find her less annoying than some here, I know. But right now she's not that interesting either. Ward and Agent 33 have potential. And Talbot is always welcome.

Not a great episode but good enough.

I think Talbot was the only part of the last episode I enjoyed. In his utter lack of security procedures. Even in this world lacking super powers I wouldn't just wave my wife through security, and he lives in the Marvel universe and is aware of the face change mask technology.

This season is feeling a lot like season one did before Winter Soldier. Kind of like they're waiting for one big spoiler before really unleashing it's full potential. Oh, I guess Fitz and Simmons discussing the different categories of powers was kind of a subtle hint towards Age of Ultron. Either way, kind of slow.

Poots using her power was neat. Poots crying about it immediately after not so much. Nice to see Xena again. Oh, and the Hulk fist. That was neat, too.

I didn't realize what it was until she said "The house that Banner built". Then I was all "Oh, duh, stupid me."

When they showed the giant fist mark I thought of Abomination at first. Well, almost. Smiley: lol

The REALtm Shield seem like a bunch of holier than thou idiots. If you are basically on the same team, it makes much more sense to just call and discuss differences instead of this cloak and dagger nonsense. Especially if you have it written on your banners to make Shield less secret-ridden. Coulson said as much already. I wonder if they get a good explanation for their doing or if this is really it.

Same thought I had. It's like "Um... Aren't you guys the ones sneaking around and being all covert?". Not sure if this really is just a case of people being stupid, of if there's something else nefarious going on. My guess is the latter, but you never know.

Even with comic book logic it's a bit tough to take a covert operation that places it's corporate brand on everything serious.

"Hey, are those guys spies?"
"The ones with the giant eagles on their cars and outfits and weapons and briefcases?"
"Yeah."
"Don't be daft."

Guess it could be hiding in plain sight kind of thing.

To be fair, they dress in normal, civilians clothes when they are on a mission in the show. At least when these missions take place in populated areas.

Nothing's happening, nothing's happening, something about a Deathlok, nothing's happening ... felt my blood pressure ting upwards a bit when they called one of the jets going after Coulson and Hunter a Quinjet. **** that, no it wasn't. Smiley: motz

Okay, the clothes was a bit far, but they're usually jumping out of ships with giant eagles on them, or out of trucks with eagles.

Loved the Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid reference. The return of Deathlok was unexpected to me and he has not whined about his son yet, so there's that. Mostly setting the stage for things to come but that's okay if they don't drag it out too long.

Nice little backstory for May, and definitely enjoyed the last few minutes with Fitz in the bathroom. I kind of wish the production didn't blow their budget on location shots and used that money to showcase some Inhumans that aren't Sightcrawler. They're about to make like a trillion billion dollars over the next two months, would it hurt them to show someone throw a fireball?

Raina is The Clairvoyant now. Literary.

Have I slept through the explanation as to why Skyes mother is still alive? Sure she dropped that one line about Cal piecing her back together, but come on! Didn't he himself talk repeatedly about her death and his need to avenge her murder by Whitehall? Also, if she still lives after being dissected, shouldn't we be worried about a return of Whitehall? Can anybody please stay dead in the MCU? Not a fan of this.

Yeah. I was a bit surprised at how they just had her show up, but made no deal of it at all. I few episodes back, when she walks into the room where Cal is being held, he didn't seem surprised at all to see her. Which seemed strange given I could have sworn as well that he thought she was dead and that this was (at least partly) why he has spiraled into such violence and despair and whatnot. Stealth retcon maybe? Doesn't seem like Cal is subtle enough to have chosen to lie about her dying. Lie of omission really, since I think he just said Whitehall "tore her apart" or something like that, which presumably was true, but clearly gave the impression that she was dead. Again, he doesn't seem the type to play word games like that. Then again, he's mentally unstable, so who knows?

People who were presumed dead coming back later is kind of a staple of the genre, so it doesn't bother me so much.
