Anyone reading this funny book? I stopped buying comics regularly about a year and a half ago (I grab the trade paperbacks of Walking Dead, Invincible, & the occasional Marvel TPB), so I haven't kept up with what's going on currently in American comics recently unless I read about it on a geeky site (DC retconned their universe again, Spider-Man is Doc. Ock in Peter Parker's body, & apparently Neil Gaimen is going to be writing more Sandman). I had a friend recommend Saga by Brian K Vaughan (Y: The Last Man, Runaways, Lost (TV), Under the Dome ((TV)), so I picked up the first two volumes yesterday.

It certainly reminds me more of Y: The Last man, which I loved, than Deus Ex Machina (which I fell out of love with after about 50 issues) or Runaways (which I stopped buying sometime during Whedon's run). But its, thus far, way better than any of them.

Its a complete mashup of sci-fi & fantasy with wonderful art, political undertones, sight gags, humor, & heart. New parents, especially, will be highly entertained. I can't recommend the book enough. If you like Vaughan or have an interest in any of the genre's I mentioned above, you'll probably love this book.

A preview of issue #1 can be found here. NSFW, potty language.

All Hail Google.
