The episode was better than I expected but not great. Do you think Carol is only pretending being helpless?
She and Daryl spotted the car, followed them back and have been monitoring the joint for a while. Now they have set the trap.
Either that or Carol got in a bad situation and they really did find her and took her back to the hospital thinking she was a weak woman they could take advantage of. In which case... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oORtfqsRIjw&t=30s
Well, I'd be remiss to pretend I was surprised by the revelation (a downside to reading), as it was a major plot point and all. What was kind of surprising was that it wasn't the cliffhanger ending. I was kind of expecting the line being uttered and then "Scenes from the next episode" end. Not bad, not bad at all. Nice of them to build up some of Abraham's backstory. One thing the book doesn't do much of, or doesn't do particularly well and forgettable at that, is spend a lot of time on character back stories.
Speaking of reading, I'm strongly considering dropping it from my pull list. I don't really think they can do much with the story anymore.

I'm only buying the collected editions and haven't read any issues since all out war part concluded, which was kind of awesome, so I can't judge. Yet.

It was nice although the zombieslaying seems to be getting less dangerous by the episode. I know the Walkers are slow and predictable and everyone alive (sans Eugene) is pretty experienced at dispensing of them now. But still...
The twist...yeah. Having not read the comics it still wasn't very surprising thanks to the internet. I never saw it outright said anywhere but many hints and theories that pointed in this direction.
I think it may have been asked in this thread before but Maggie is not concerned about her sister at all? I don't think she was mourning for Beth at any point so it's not like she just moved past it.
They behaved pretty careless almost every other scene.
So immediately after the clash with the Sanctuary guys they already have beef with a new group. I'm interested in how they want to crack that fortress.
It's actions like last night that makes me wonder how they survive for any length of time. You'd think a few of them would figure out that being trustworthy would bite them in the ass, but nooo ... Seeing as how next week's episode of the mid-season finale, it should be a pretty action packed sequence, which is fine since this week's was pretty void of pretty much anything.
Well, not entirely true. Daryl using the zombie-skull as a bludgeoning weapon was amusing at the very least.

I wonder what they want to do with all the parts they took from the church. Build an A-Team-esque attack vehicle?
Lets hope so!

Best part is the Walking Dead Facebook page posted a spoiler right after the episode and it's filled with 28 thousand comments of people crying about being on the west coast and not watching it yet.
Just finished consoling the wife. She lost it a 2nd time when they did the "say goodbye" montage during The Talking Dead. Didn't love the episode until the last 10mins, but then holy shit!

I had a house full of scragglers from the holiday get-together trying to avoid late night traffic, so half a dozen crying women and a teenager trying his hardest to look unaffected. Really well done emotional scene.

If you want to live in the past, you'd think it was common sense to avoid any media that might spoil any surprises you're looking forward to.

I had already forgotten about the scissors during the exchange. And then things happened and now I'm sad. By chance saw my first comment after having watched the trailer for this season.

Yeah...
If I didn't forget something this marked the first time they met another larger group without killing all / most of the other guys. So at least there's a bit of variety in the writing. I was expecting another fullout bloodbath.
Edit: In case someone missed it, the episode had an after credit scene. I wish they would not do this. I always close VLC before the preview for the next episode starts because I don't want to see that. Is this the second time they did this during season 8 or were there more?

I always watch it "live" and then usually stick around with Talking Dead on (sometimes just on, not really paying too closely to it) afterward. Also I pay attention until Chris starts talking and introduces the Talking Dead. So I can't say I've ever thought of any of them as "After Credits"... I can't really tell you if it's been done more than just a few times.
I liked seeing all those people in Tyreses fever dreams again. I thought it odd however when Michonne cut of his arm. Wasn't that way too late anyway?
Also the new kid seems to be really useless in all situations. Even when he killed the biter which got Tyrese he was too late. And that was his best moment so far.
Too man black people. Gonna have to thin the herd.
Yes, it was too late, but they had to try anyway. He was definitely going to die if they did nothing. It's still not clear if he died from the bite or the blood loss. It's possible that without the blood loss he could have survived.
Dude should have bled out 10 times over. Does no one on TWD know what a tourniquet is?
Otherwise an excellent episode. Really, really good. And for comic fans, lots of (probable) foreshadowing. (I'd guess the biter with the neck armor was a whisperer, while Nagan & co. destroyed the town.)
Another moral compass down.
I actually thought at the beginning of episode that Tyrese was one of the last characters from the comics that was living on borrowed time. And logically, they won't kill Judith - qt least as terribly as she died in the comics, Carol's a fan favorite, and while I can see them killing TV Tyrese's sister, she's really a completely different character on the show than in the comics. Plus it looks like she'll take over comic book Andrea's sniper duties. If I didn't mention it earlier, TV Andrea was terrible by comparison to her comic book counterpart.

I thought it was just a piece of re-bar stuck in its shoulder (which stopped Michonne's blade)? Later pulled out and used to bludgeon the walker.
Unless you are talking about a different scene.
No, I thought that it had neck armor on. Seems I was wrong though.

I get what they were trying to do, hope for the hopeless, but between that & the "we are the walking dead" speech it was kind of a cheesy episode. Aaron should spice things up a bit, but I was kind of hoping Jesus would make first contact.
