Robert Downey officially onboard to reprise his role as Tony Stark in Sony's Spider-Man: Homecoming. So hopefully more Stark Sexy Aunt May flirting. And in reverse, Emilia Clarke shoots down future appearances as Sarah Conner in future Terminator movies. Which is probably a good idea, considering the cluster that was Genisys. Also reports say that Michael Keaton is out of Homecoming, which on one hand is a shame since being the Vulture could have been such a great metajoke. On the other most of the cast is pretty much Teen Nick Hannah Montana starlets so dealing with that would have been a headache for the veteran actor.

Three new spots for X-Men: Apocalypse.

Donuts are serious business, pitting brother against brother. Elizabeth Olsen in the background really sells it.

Ha, he already looks like Creeper so not a stretch, to include a Plastic Man joke. I could see both.

Sounds like Inhumans got it's release date removed.

I liked the episode of Legends of Tomorrow. Something about a little kid killing a time traveling super assassin. Though, I'm not sure why they don't just return their baby selves to their correct timelines right now, rather than wait until after they defeat savage. They already said that the time masters won't attempt to kill their baby selves again, because timey-wimey stuffs.

Wishful thinking that Inhumans will be replaced with a Fantastic Four movie instead.

I doubt Fantastic Four will show up for another few years, at least until Fox's contract nears ending. Another Indiana Jones movie was announced and the release date for it is pretty close to Inhumans, and they also announced Spider-Man: Homecoming and Ant-Man and Wasp, both of which are better bets when it comes to box office numbers. Though, I have my doubts with Spider-Man at the moment since the casting is questionable, at least for me.

On the other side of the aisle, rumors abound for the Green Lantern Corps movie, suggesting that Kyle Ryner, the guy whose girlfriend is the origin for the "Women in Fridges" trope and was probably raped by Bueno Excellente, will join Hal Jordon and John Stewart in their Space Cop adventures. Also a list of five characters being cast for The Flash, all of whom seem to be drawing inspiration from the TV show according to heroichollywood.com.

Fred Chyre: "Fred Chyre is described in the breakdown as a gruff detective who first meets Barry at the scene of a crime. Now they’re colleagues and the closest thing Barry has to a friend. Chryre is investigating the unusual death of someone at Thawne Laboratories."

Captain Cold: "Len Snart is described in the breakdown as being ex-military and turns out to be working for Thawne. Have a feeling he is the muscle the way Anatoli Knyazev (aka the KGBEAST) was the muscle for Lex Luthor in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice.'"

Jay Garrick: "Jay Garrick is described in the breakdown as being a former Central University professor who was fired for fringe science, and was working on the speed force program. Supposedly his role is just a cameo."

Final X-Men: Apocalypse trailer.

Holy ions Nathan Fillion as Simon Williams. (1 / 2 / 3 / 4) No word whether he'll actually appear or if these are just some fun Easter Eggs for Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2, but either way: Wonder Man reference! Smiley: thumbsup

Lucifer ended pretty well. And they'll have a second season. Lucifer's "Mother" escaped from Hell. I am guessing it's going to be a character named Lilith?

I was under the impression there was going to be a new episode of Gotham. Smiley: mad Lucifer ended okay, concluded the storyline and introduced the next one. I kind of thought it'd be better if the episode ended while he was laying on the ground bleeding out, but I guess that kind of cliffhanger is better suited for a third or fourth season finale.

Apparently imgur deleted my account or something, so dealing with that. Guess those Wonder Man pics were taboo. (Apparently I'm not the only one it's happening/happened to so that's something.)

Another poster (my favorite), better resolution of some of the previous posters, Kirby's Trading Post (for Jack Kirby), and a sign for Abnett Something Or The Other (for Dan Abnett). Guardians of the References. Smiley: thumbsup

There's a new clip of Spider-Man fighting Bucky. I haven't watched it yet, since the movie is like ten days out and I'm trying to expose myself to as little info as possible, but here it is. Also it sounds like a lot of the TV spots are digitally touched to remove Spider-Man from the scenes he's in, like allegedly the scene where the two teams are charging at each other at the airport runway.

SHIELD: Coulson, the ultimate Rogers fanboy, had Captain America's Energy Shield in his hand and another reference to his Captain America cards. I may or may not have shrieked like a little girl at the energy shield. Probably. If I ever lose my hand I want that. Also a bit fun to watch Fitz getting Force Choked and Simmons getting the Jedi Mind Trick. Aussie Gambit was a bit of a low point, mainly because he was Aussie Gambit. Also, d'aww geek love.

Flash: Better than usually, but still far below Season 1. Barry using his brains instead of running circles around bad guys and still getting clobbered was a nice touch, kind of sad that Griffin died of old age (MY NAME IS GRIFFEN GREY, AND I AM THE FASTEST AGING MAN IN THE WORLD.) Sad to see Killer Frost go.

Richard E Grant cast in Wolverine 3 as a "mad scientist type" character.

"Summer 2016" if this handy dandy chart is to be believed.

Wolverine 3 adds Stephen Merchant, and a The Dark Tower adds Katheryn Winnick. Speaking of Huge Jackedman's movie, kind of, Fox has opted to skip a Hall H presentation at the next San Diego Comicon due to issues with "piracy," so there probably won't be any news about Deadpool 2 or Wolverine 3 or whatever other cape movie they have in the pipeline in the near future. Kind of a shame that we have this tool for instant information, and an event that said instant information doesn't detract from, and the two aren't being used simultaneously.

Captain America: Civil War has 51 reviews and is sitting at 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. The one negative review was written by someone who admitted they did it just to be the first to write a negative review for it. It's sitting at 83 on Metacritic, but only 16 reviews there. Either way next Thursday can't get here soon enough. Also the movie is out in some foreign markets, and has a $15m one day box office take.

Arrow: Episode felt slow, but they finally caught up to the tombstone scene from the beginning flash-forward.

LoT: Episode started very slow. Then they introduced the dull looking super mech and I kind of rolled my eyes a bit. Then they reversed ATOM's shrinking ability and I thought "Meh". Then they all started fighting and I was kind of into it. Giant ATOM vs Crappy CG Mech grew on me, and the fight between Hawk Girl and Savage was going well until they decided to throw Carter into the mix and make Hawk Girl go all cry baby on us.

I'm assuming they skewered the Professor just so they didn't have Firestorm involved in the fight. Ray needed a cheerleader, and I'd hazard a guess that Firestorm is the most expensive of the characters to have on screen.

Apparently 20th Century Fox won't be showing any exclusive trailers, previews, and such at Comic-Con. Because people just record and post them online. I'd imagine this means they'll just do timed content releases on their own terms. And the internet outrage aimed at Fox and "Pirates" is just click bait.

I figure they didn't use Firestorm because they blew their FX budget on that cheesy Mecha-Kaiju fight and the lens flare effects with the mace.

Someone is listening, as it's been made official that Jon Bernthal is getting a Netflix Punisher series of his very own, complete with a short teaser. No word beyond that, like whether he'll show up with the rest of the characters in something like The Defenders, but this is great either way. Steve Lightfoot from "Hannibal" will be the showrunner.

X-Men: Apocalypse upping their Easter Egg game with this particularly amusing picture just released.

Tomb Raider reboot finds it's Lara Croft in Alicia Vikander. I looked her up and she's really tiny. Same with Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, but at least there you can argue comic physics and magic strength and what not, but Tomb Raider? I'd kind of expect a globetrotting treasure hunter to have arms.

She's hot though. And her breasts are not huge so it's following the trend in the video game series... Pretty sure current video game Lara has some skinny arms.

I just watched Ex Machina yesterday, and I think that was her.

I don't know, they look like arms that could climb mountains. Vikander is pretty hot, certainly, but she doesn't look like she could climb stairs without assistance. Maybe they'll bulk her up a bit.

The director of the upcoming Flash solo movie, Seth Grahame-Smith, has left the project over "creative differences." There was a rumor that James Wan was leaving Aquaman for the same reason as well, but he recently dispelled that rumor ... at least for the time being.

Looks like Space Jam 2 is back on the table, as LeBron James signs on his next logical step to follow in Michael Jordon's footsteps, with James Linn in talks to direct.

After Gotham tonight, there is a new "Houdini and Doyle". Harry Houdini and Arthur Conan Doyle team up to solve supernatural mysteries.

Illusion and Slight of Hand meets real magic? Maybe. But it is Fox... so dropped after one season?

Edit:

Gotham: Solid episode. Azrael worked out well. More Strangeness from Hugo. They talked about introducing Mad Hatter previously. And Hugo recited some Alice in Wonderland lines. But are they going to have the Mad Hatter be a separate character, or are they making Hugo out to be Mad Hatter? He seems focused on this new mind control methodology.

I like Nygma in the asylum. His bit with Strange, and the mini montage at the end with him looking for the secret room.

Him, and Penguin, are pretty much the show's MVPs. Jean Phillipe Galavan going full crazy and as Azrael was definitely great. Not so subtle foreshadowing with Bruce watching him run around in the shadows for future Batman. I don't think Hugo is going to be Mad Hatter, I think his assistant will.

Oh yeah, thanks for mentioning it. It reminded me to record it last night. Haven't watched it yet, but at least it's there and I did want to watch it.

Looks like another season of Agent Carter and the future of the Marvel's Most Wanted spin-off aren't on as solid ground as once thought. Possibly won't become series. Shame, after all the trouble they went through to get Bobbi and Lance off Agents of SHIELD in the first place.

If Amazon is to be believed, Killing Joke has a release date of August 2nd. Pretty sure that the other day it didn't have a release date listed.

Flash: Wally West is now a Speedster. Not sure if they plan on making Wells' daughter a Speedster too?

SHIELD: HIVE mini backstory. As you said previously, it seems to be a very Apocalypse type character. The short, sudden, addition of the Kree reapers seemed a bit out of place. Maybe not so much out of place (since, they are actually part of the story) but like... "Hey, remember these guys, ok, just making sure."

Somehow I just realized that Coulson calls Fitz and Simmons just "FitzSimmons" when talking to them. For some reason I noticed it this episode, and thinking about it made me think I'm pretty sure he's called them that before many times.

At least ABC didn't completely interrupt the show. They just had a banner on the bottom saying "Remember we told you that Ted Cruz suspended his campaign".

Houdini & Doyle: X-Files or Scooby Do styled mystery show. I was hoping they would play more with the X Files setup. With a little undertone of a real supernatural occurrence, or a hint that their scientific solution in the end may not have explained it all, rather than a complete regular solution given at the end ALA Scooby Do.

It is only the first episode. Maybe they'll play with the real supernatural as the season progresses.

Wouldn't surprise me, the set up was either turn them both metahuman or have them hook up. My name is Barry Allen, and I am the most exploded man in the world. I'm guessing he "become one with the Speed Force," since the preview shows him in a dreamlike state and less exploded.

SHIELD: It should probably be noted at how brutal both Flash and SHIELD was last night. Barry exploded, and the Inhuman power the first test subjects got were less than desirable. Mary Sue Poots lived up to her name, manhandling an alien who specifically exists to hunt down and destroy people. Mack could have saved himself some pain if he'd had just told her he loved her. That's pretty much the go-to defense against brain washing.
Ben Ramsey, writer of Dragonball Evolution wrote:
I knew that it would eventually come down to this one day. ‘Dragonball Evolution’ marked a very painful creative point in my life. To have something with my name on it as the writer be so globally reviled is gut wrenching. To receive hate mail from all over the world is heartbreaking. I spent so many years trying to deflect the blame, but at the end of the day it all comes down to the written word on page and I take full responsibility for what was such a disappointment to so many fans. I did the best I could, but at the end of the day, I ‘dropped the dragon ball.'

I went into the project chasing after a big payday, not as a fan of the franchise but as a businessman taking on an assignment. I have learned that when you go into a creative endeavor without passion you come out with sub-optimal results, and sometimes flat out garbage. So I’m not blaming anyone for ‘Dragonball’ but myself. As a fanboy of other series, I know what it’s like to have something you love and anticipate be so disappointing.”
I'm ready to forgive him. Not the movie, but him.

The Russos confirm that the titles of the next two Avengers movies will be changed, as to "not anger fans over releasing the third 'Avengers' epic in two parts". Somehow I don't think the fans really care that it'd be released in two parts, especially since currently most fans believe anything the brothers touch turns to gold.

That being said, Supergirl is finding some difficulty in getting renewed, and rumors are because CBS can't justify the show's $3m per episode budget against the show's ratings. There's more rumory-rumors that should CBS decline to renew that the CW would pick up the show, but with a significant budget cut. Which is great, since Constantine was a cheaper and better show that was already connected to the CW shows but noooo, let's keep Supergirl you lousy sons of rabblerabblerabblerabble.

Eriq La Salle, from ER for those of us old enough to remember ER, joins the Wolverine 3 train, along with "The Office's" Stephen Merchant, "Doctor Who's" Richard E. Grant, and "Narcos'" Boyd Holbrook. Rumors also speculate that Laura "X-23" Kinney could possibly maybe debut (yay) and that it could be rated R (meh).

New Power Rangers outfits, provided by Tony Stark apparently. Other than the mouths I'm okay with it. The rumor that Rita Repulsa was the original Green Ranger kind of more likely now.

LoT: Civil War was absolutely worth missing this show for. Also, that's what DVR is for. Palmer is pretty retarded for a genius. Kind of saw the ending coming.

The almighty Russos say the Avengers: Infinity Wars Working Title will start filming in November, and that the scripts were started during Civil War's post production, so that's neat to know. Wolverine 3 fins another cast member, this time "The Hughley's" Elise Neal, though no specific role has been attributed to her. And for the Star Wars fans, Alden Ehrenreich has been cast as the young Han Solo.

In further Supergirl rumor news, reports that the Girl from Krypton will be moving from LA to Vancouver to cut costs from it's exuberant budget. Which, if you've watched enough of the show you have to wonder where the money really goes since it already looks pretty low budget.

Fox is planning ahead, with producer Simon Kinberg stating that the next X-Film will be set in the '90s. Blind and informationless speculation has me betting on some Adam-X introduction, maybe Shatterstar and the Mojoverse. Actually I wrote that and decided Mojo would be kind of neat, commenting on each iteration and multiple movieverses and such.

Speaking of Kinberg confirms that Wolverine 3, which movie posters are no doubt going to show his three claws because HA HA SO ORIGINAL, will be R-Rated.
Simon Kinberg wrote:
I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say about that. I will agree with you that Patrick Stewart was rumored to be a part of that film. It takes place in the future, and as you and others have reported, it is an R-rated movie. It’s violent, it’s kind of like a western in its tone. It’s just a very cool, different film.

Gotham: Pretty neat episode. Mostly for Butch blowing up Galavan with a bazooka.

Review embargo drops for X-Men: Apocalypse, and they're not pretty. I think critics are being pretty extreme for cape movies in general, even Civil War has dropped like ten percent since it's release last weekend. The biggest take-away seems to be a scene where The X-Kids are leaving a theater debating the quality of the Star Wars movies and all come to the conclusion that the third movie of a trilogy is always horrible, which is kind of a backhanded swat at X3, but turns into a self fulfilling prophecy.

More from Simon Kinberg, who says the New Mutants movie will have a role for Charles Xavier.

Kind of a let down that he jobbed to Aussie Gambit and his entire "purpose" was to play second banana to Mary Sue Poots. I'm guessing they'll use Lash's DNA to make a vaccine to having Hive in your system. Nice to see Alpha Primitives, and every appearance of Talbot is magic. Smiley: laugh

Lots of Civil War references. Lots.

Flash:"Copdad?!" "No Barry, I am the Speedforce."
"Iris?!" "No Barry, I am the Speedforce."
"Prisondad?!" "No Barry, I am the Speedforce."
"Mom?!" "No Barry, I am the Speedforce."

Maybe the first two, but we're supposed to believe Barry is smart so he should have caught on at some point. Anyway, I'm just glad Kevin Smith snuck in the "Speedforce, don't gotta explain sh*t" reference near the start. I guess next week we find out if Barry's new outfit is made of GoFast or whatever explanation for how he came out of the Speedforce with clothes when they were destroyed when he exploded.

They showed a lot of Earth-2 Metas at the end, and the teaser clip showed Evil-Canary, so between that and Barry's allegedly upgraded powers should be interesting to see next week, though I imagine the majority will pretty much just fall over.

Oh, and apparently Speedforce is an STD. Welles' daughter is so infected, and probably Wally soon. Probably both as the season finale "huge" reveal.

Speaking of "It's the Speedforce, I don't gotta explain sh*t", Kevin Smith says he wants to now direct an episode of Arrow. I mean, his Flash episode is probably the better one of the current season and it's not like he can do worse than the current directors.

Arrow: Felicity killed 30,000 people. Havenrock Accords when?

Kurt Russel has finished filming his scenes for Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2. It's speculated he's Peter Quill's dad, but not J'son because why follow the source material. Krysten Ritter confirms that Jessica Jones season 2 will be filming back-to-back with The Defenders. Black Panther adds Lupita Nyong'o to it's cast of characters, as a rumored love interest. Blah, that particular character type didn't work so good in the Thor movies, remember Marvel? Also there's a rumor that Zack Stentz, the writer for X-Men: First Class, is also writing a Booster Gold. The rumors also say that it'll be a "lighter extension of the DC film universe," which shouldn't be that difficult considering the current state of it.

I'll just ninja in this edit while I have a moment: Seems Supergirl's move to CW has been made official. Shouldn't be long before Barry and Kara have another metageek hang-out session, and Felicity to prove how much stronger than Supergirl she really is.

LoT, it was a heavy storyline episode, but was one of the better ones. At the end there, I thought they were going to go through everyone for the "who will sacrifice themselves". Fireman knocks Palmer out of the way, Captain Cold pushes Fireman, thought Sarah was going to push Cold out. Then Jackson push out Sarah, and Professor come to save Jackson.
