There's not enough info in that teaser for me to make an opinion either way. I like the look, but besides a trip to the negative zone there really isn't any plot revealed nor is Doctor Doom.

Now that doesn't mean it won't suck, mind you - just that the teaser didn't reveal enough info for me to declare it will...yet.

Agent Carter: I really liked that automatic pistol but holy crap return of the three point stance! Rage. Can't Marvel have one female fight scene that doesn't end like that? I went from "Holy crap awesome!" to "Ugh, again with that?" instantly. Kind of wonder who blondie is. I'm assuming Viper because for the life of me I can't think of anyone else, and according to the Captain America video game she's around during that time period, though I don't remember just how canon the game was.

Saw Agent Carter today and I must say, for me this was the best episode yet. At first I thought they had killed off Tommy Lee Jones offscreen but I checked his name in First Avenger and apparently it was another general who censored that file.

Longer hair makes her look so much older, or it really has been a long time since The Matrix. Smiley: um

Edit: Speaking of Netflix, here's a teaser for the teaser to a trailer for the Netflix Daredevil series.

Agent Carter - Bets on Dottie? I'm going with the obvious yet not so obvious Yelena Belova, the second Black Widow? Also we clearly need more Howling Commandos cameos. Neal McDonough is a dead ringer for Dum Dum, up there with JK Simmons as J Jonah Jameson and Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier. While I'm here more JK Simmons as JJJ. Not using him is a crime. He's for it, at least.

Here's the teaser to the trailer to Netflix's Daredevil series. Eventually we might even get an actual trailer.

Looks like Ol' Stick is showing up. Sweet.

Daredevil looks darker than anything we've had so far in the MCU. I like it!

Agent Carter was okay. I find it funny how they established Peggy speaking russian and avoided her saying anything in that language the whole episode.

Hey, if you guys ever feel too geeky over liking comics, here's a reminder that there's always someone more deranged than you.

What makes this even worse than it already would be is, he doesn't look like the Red Skull. He looks like a random lunatic. I mean if he had succeded he would still be an incredible idiot. But at least an idiot that made his vision come true.

Spiderman is officially back.

Not a great fan of this to be honest. Sony got way too much out of it.

"Sony Pictures will continue to finance, distribute, own and have final creative control of the Spider-Man films."
"Marvel and Sony Pictures are also exploring opportunities to integrate characters from the MCU into future Spider-Man films."

Also, the wording of the article is just wrong...

"Sony Pictures Entertainment and Marvel Studios announced today that Sony is bringing Marvel into the amazing world of Spider-Man."

At this point I'm highly sceptical. A question I've seen frequently is when will the MCU have its first *****-up. My bet is they will have that in one of the upcoming Spiderman movies.

Edit: Also, this.

I'd wager Civil War cameo. Edit: Oh wait, Amy Pascal? After Earth and Karate Kid remake Amy Pascal? Oh boy Jaden Smith as Miles Morales.

I'm a bit surprised Captain Marvel still hasn't been moved up to compete with Wonder Woman in 2017.

Spiderman taking away Black Panthers screentime and importance to the story in Civil War is another thought I do not like. And BPs solo movie is now after Infinity War 1? I would have thought he'd play a part in that.

I think this is for the best. No way Sony ever sells back the rights to Spidey, so having Marvel work on Spidey with them is probably what's best for fans. We get Spidey cameos in MCU movies & Sony makes fewer bad Spider-Man movies.

I read yesterday that Marvel wants Angelina Jolie to direct Captain Marvel, which may not be a bad thing.

She's kind of a mediocre actor with almost no experience directing, so at least on paper I can't see it being a particularly good thing either.

Didn't her first/last thing get good reviews? I haven't actually read them. Could just be Hollywood circle jerks.

Unbroken, 51% according to Rotten Tomato. Just a cursory look-over even the positive reviews aren't about her directorial performance.

Marvel wouldn't let her make a bad Captain Marvel flick. If she directed it, she'd probably have a part in it as well, which already gives Captain Marvel entirely more star power than it's competition.

I'd rather they get a director who can bring his/her own vision to the movie and uses that vision to improve the end result than having a moderate director who needs constant supervision to not screw it up.
#198 Feb 10 2015 at 12:16 PM Rating: Good
Thats not how Marvel runs things, though. They get a director that will make the movie that Marvel wants them to make, or they'll find a new one. Sure, it's cool when a director adds their own flair to things, but outside of Guardians & Iron Man 3 there really haven't been any Marvel movies that were had anything in them that I could say was "distinctively" in a director's own personal "style".

Favreau's Iron Man movies could have been directed by anyone (& he was replaced in the 3rd one as director), Whedon's Avenger's would have been a similar flick if he didn't direct it (but still wrote the script), the first Thor was directed by Kenneth Branagh & it'd be hard to know that by watching it. Thor 2's Alan Taylor had worked on Game of Throne's, but I didn't notice much in it besides a darker tone that I would say was influenced by him (& that was probably the script), & Marvel famously canned Edgar Wright cause he didn't want to make the movie they wanted.

Sure, if Jolie gets the job & ***** everything up I'll be proven wrong, but with Marvel's track record I just don't see them letting anyone fail.

I agree with most of what you wrote. But just compare Winter Soldier to one of the weaker entries (Thor 2 or Iron Man 3 for example). I'd say Jolie would not be able to do a Winter Soldier. Even with help from above.

Considering Paul Rudd and Bicycle Cummerbund's roles, that does seem to be the direction Marvel is heading. Though personally it doesn't really do anything for me. The MCU hasn't really had any issue with casting, I guess lesser actors is the nicest way to put it. Robert Downey Jr was a flat out risk before he was cast as Tony Stark. Then you have Evans, Pratt, Hemsworth, and Johannson who were all almost entirely unknowns.

I kind of want Olivia Wilde to play the lead. I'm not entirely sure why. Just thought I'd throw that out.

Olivia Wilde has the chops, but I really want Carol to be a blonde. Emily Blunt would be my choice, after she kicked all of the asses in Edge of Tomorrow.
