In the middle of the concept art picture, is that a male mithra sitting with his chin in his hand? Awesome if it is!

Except if it were baby photos, it would be like looking at before and afters of Michael Jackson. Only instead of turning into a white guy, he changes into a chick!

We have yet to see of the mythical female not-Galka. Imagine the bust (and abnormal amounts of hair) on that one.

this, of course, if you consider Vana'diel enviroment. It doesn't necessary have to be the same

It certainly looks like a male to me. As I said in a different thread, the shoulder is much larger then the other two mithra in the picture and the jaw/face is much more masculine looking.

Looking at tech and the world, I think FFXIV is 'FFXI, #0 (#00?) years later'. It makes sense that the male population of mithra could rebound or range out a bit at least. Maybe just more Male NPCs at least (Mithra is the gender balance for Galka, as mentioned).

Future Male Mithra Here. Let me explain to all of you the issues and questions between both Male Mithra, and Female Galka. This is coming from some one who has beat all the missions and quests in the game, including all the newest WOTG missions and nation missions.

Male Mithra~

I see a lot of people that don't know this, so I'll explain it. Mithra are not originally from Elshimo Island, or from Windurstian regions. The ones you see in those two regions are more or less "renegade" mithra, who are comprised of women, who left their homeland. Their homeland is called Tshiyha (sp?) And is supposedly a very large island, much larger than Elishimo, to the far south east. Lehko (the male mithra npc in WOTG) speaks of it and his "Brothers" there. Naja Salaheem speaks of it as well, and other various npc's.

Mithra bread, just like Humans do, or shall I say, Humes, Elvaan's, and Taru's. They reproduce, and there is men and women. From what Lehko has said, the men aren't really that rare, it's just the fact that the tribes are went to Elshimo, and Windurst, are Mithran Tribes of Women. It's a different case in their homeland though.

Female Galka~

They do not exist. I'm sorry, and I'm not just saying this. Galka are a more or less "Divine" race who were sent to protect Vana Diel. You learn this in the Bastok Storyline. Galka are not born like a normal human. They are "reborn" as a child on the top of a high mountain in Altepa supposedly. They are not technically men, but they are more like like "Gods" in mythology. This is how their race is just setup.

Now, let's get a few things strait, which is all in the FFXI storylines currently. There are indeed male Mithra, they are not *** slaves, and they are perfectly normal on their home continent. In fact, they could at any time venture off as Lehko has. It just so happens that the Mithran Tribes who went to Elshimo and Windurst are comprised of women. Galka are indeed not female, and no female Galka exist.

What could they do to add a all female race? There are many types of races in folklore that they could add, one could even be similar to pixies in a way, or fairies. There are many things they could do like that.

However, I think the main reason SE will be adding Male Mithra in FFXIV is because there has always been such an enormous demand for them in FFXI, and they were never added. It's very much going with the current fanservice trends of now days to have a "cute male" type of character, and I think SE will play into this.

lol, well said sir.

But yeah that creature you speak of is definitely a male mithra. His features are that of a softer hume male with cat ears. Much more masculine than the female mithra in the same picture.

Exactly, and Exactly.

This is indeed not vana diel, but it is indeed a spin off of it, in some way, form, and fashion. So that's even more reason to believe in the male mithra. Not to mention the fact that SE is giving us some BIG hints towards it to tease us, like the main picture on the FFXIV site. Also if you look closely in the trailer at the Mithra casting magic, it's too Masculine looking to be a female as well.

This case should be closed lol.

I dunno if I would say it isn't Vana'diel anymore... Those are definatly the 5 races there. But where/when in vana'diel it is? Dunno.

The distant future?
A forgotten page of the past?

****, might just be the far south/east/west/northsouthwesteastern continents- who knows.

You know I keep looking over that picture, over and over, and no matter how you want to cut it, that is 100% positively a male mithra. That, or the biggest **** video gaming has ever seen. He's talking to what appears to be a TaruTaru as well.

Also, another thing that looks curious... The Galka in this game look less like, Monsters? (no offense my Galka friends) and more like, people? They could bend some rules, if they didn't follow the exact Vana Diel storyline to add in a female type Galka. I always thought excluding a *** from any race was a bad idea in the first place and never did like it.

One way or another, that there's a male mithra o-o

All of these are logical possibilities. Also don't forget, if you do the entire CoP, and RoZ storyline you find out The Zilart were trying to open the gates to "paradise" and said there would be another world. How cool would it be if the world was that which they opened? When you do the map quests for all three main sea zones, you find out from the Quaseliums that their masters went to another place and left them there more or less. Not to mention, the main theme art for it looks VERY Zilart, and it would be so incredible perfect to add into the story like that.

Look at the attire.. the mithra is wearing a vest with a collar. That is definitely a male mithra, unless they are starting to crossdress the females. =P
