For the LOVE OF GOD and all that is holy, let's band together and pray with all our might that there will be no muling in FFXIV. But instead, we will have well organized inventories, and mog house type things and what not, to keep all the gear we need on us. Spending hours a day just to mule gear around to play on one job or another is one of FFXI's biggest Flaws. So does everything thing this time around they will get this right? Unlimited Inventory Perhaps?! Or at least something big enough to carry the stuff we'd always need! What does everyone think?

No way in **** they're going to have unlimited. But I think they'll do some calculations (10 slots per job * 6 jobs + 15 slots per craft * 2 crafts + 20 additional slots). I think 110 slots would work out per mog. I don't think you should be able to carry more than 60 items on your person, though.

Maybe you can buy more than one Mog House, too? That'd be cool.

Yes, please, more inventory and an end to mules! Unlimited is a bit much, but any reasonable increase would be welcome.

Ah who am I kidding... no matter the increase I'd still have mules. XD

I think they should limit on-person inventory to prevent excessive gear-swapping, if that'll even be an issue anymore. A lot of the interface is archaic now anyway, and with a better inventory system overall, a limited on-person inventory would be okay. Specific slot numbers are hard to request because we don't know if the drop system/gear system will be the same as XI.

I just hope a lot of the petty little inconveniences will be fixed... and well, let's hope they are. Like this post on skill-ups:

Not to change the subject here but how is that a petty inconvenience? You aren't magically granted skill with a weapon your first time using it, how is it petty to be forced to level it up by hitting MOBs with it?

60 items on hand seems perfectly reasonable to me, it's the storage that needs to be larger, especially if the ability to change jobs on the same character is introduced. I personally had on my Galka 1 Set MNK DD Gear, 1 Set MNK solo, 1 Set NIN DD, 1 Set NIN solo, and 1+ Set NIN Tank. On top of this I had lvl capped gear for the jobs, and job for alt jobs not yet at 75 as my MNK and NIN were. I was already pressed for space even with only 2 75s.

They most definitely need to add at least 2x the storage space as FFXI had, if not more if you CAN change jobs.

I am hoping for an autoequip command, and the removal of /equip macros, really, we don't need another game where you have to carry all your gear on you PLUS 50 other items just to perform your job acceptably. Gear should include necessary stats without the need for gear swapping during battles. If SE wants to include gear swaps outside of battle I am fine with it, but multigear swapping for every macro, again? Please, do not even consider it, SE!

I agree. Situational gear is one thing, but constant gear swapping, and having to carry more items than you physically can (hi2u50% of FFXI jobs) just so you can blink, and flash, every time you preform an action, is very annoying and tedious.

As I said in the other thread, I hope some things are more simple but more stream lined in FFXI. Like I hope there are no sub jobs, but instead more specific job specialization. And I hope there isn't gear swapping during battles, but situational gear for different situations.

More like 90% of jobs.

That didn't work with FFXI - inventories get stressed but we still have our swap macros.

God I hope not. They made waaaay to many sidegrades/totally situational gear in FFXI.

I'd rather they didn't have gear swaps at all in new games, FFXI is designed with them intended so you need them. It seems silly that not only can I change map pants and stop to take rings off my fingers mid battle, but I also need to in order to perform well.

I've nearly forgotten that basically every other MMO has some kind of backback. That would be interesting to see in FF14.
