Idea: Eliminate/reduce downtime for FFXIV.Follow

SE should reduce/eliminate all downtime between battles as much as possible, by making all characters get an autoregen/autorefresh effect (a larger one than in FFXI) while they are not engaged in battle. Of course, this way during battles your hp and mp would still go down fast, and Regen and Refresh spells would still be useable, but it would really increase the pace of the game. No one plays FF for the awesome /heal and downtimes between battles.

Since this is a new game, I don't think I will see anyone objecting this idea. White Mages, Scholars, Red Mages, Bards, Corsairs and the like can still do other things in a new game that are not specifically becoming a mp or hp pool for the party when not engaged to an enemy.

sounds nice... but I guess you would have to make it so that no party members are engaged in a fights... other wise RDM WHM or w.e is a healer in this game, would have huge refresh always.

BLM spams most powerful spell 5 times on MOB and loses all MP, you think that BLM should be able to get it all back in time for the next MOB? You think if a tank does a sh*tty job and gets pwned hard, they should be able to get all their HP back in time? You don't think either of these characters would be a bit too "tired" to fight again in 5 seconds?

Learn to read, the idea is that if the characters aren't engaged in battle they will have enhanced hp and mp regeneration rates. I didn't ask for them to instantly have back their full hp and mp bars. Go back to FFXI, if you have that single track mentality, you need to look at the possibilities.

Some people really love their grind and their extreme time sinks, huh? The EQ days are long gone, dude!

One last thing, lol at your "realism" in a game where you can cast magic.

It would be sooo very nice to see an end to time sinks of (most) every kind in FF, but I highly doubt that would happen.
It's been discussed for years; that time sinks = money for the company.
If SE intends to get rid of these kinds of things, the replacement would have to be a monumentally new system, revamping ff online as we know it.
The best place to start of course would be FFXIV, and I sure as **** would love to see what SE could come up with.

Well, I wasn't going to be a **** about it but..

Why don't you learn to read and not be so hostile? I said nothing about instantaneous regeneration I said regen in time for the next MOB, which is the only thing that would eliminate downtime.

You seem to take people enjoying aspects of the game on a personal level. Did time sinks give your mother cancer? I've never played EQ; I played FFXI. You don't want time sinks? Don't play a JRPG, or any good RPG. Time sinks go with realism pretty well.

Yes, realism. I mean, I might have been somewhat sympathetic with you being a jackass in your reply had you not said that. Clearly your understanding of fictional realm dynamics are lacking. I can't even type without laughing because of how stupid the idea of "lol at your realism" is. I'll try to explain: Realism adds believability to a world, while introducing the concept of danger.

This is an example of *surrealism* in a fantasy game. This is the opposite of realism. Realism goes with some key words, such as: takes time to do things worthwhile, things don't always work out the way you want, you can't kill whatever the **** you want, you can't do whatever the **** you want.

If you want a game with God-Mode enabled, that's your problem.

Time sink as in the way current Assaults and ZNM are designed is good. Time sink as in like how ground king HNMs are now is bad. I do not think exping in even in the good ole days are that bad. May be the exp to next level after 60 is steep, but even that was manageable (2-3 good PTs to get one level). And even it is steep, I can say, I got some-number exp closer to next level.

I do not mind the game to be slow, but I would rather see slow with progressive, but not slow and trust your luck -- Salvage or even cheating in HNM camps. If the game is too fast, then it will lose longer term attraction. Design FFXIV along the successful concepts of COP and WoTG is the way to go, imo.

Please no more Salvage or ground king HNMs like content. Those are bad. They must die. >_>

Most people would actually prefer roaming parties instead of standing still in one camp and pulling over and over all day to boredom, which would be possible with enhanced hp and mp regeneration. Oh, and all that swearing won't get you anywhere in life, what are you, a ghetto thug? This is why ghetto culture must die.

Yes! Even back in Everquest I have never been a fan of "camps" I've always preferred a roaming kill style of play rather than a pull'n'kill. That's not to say I hate games that have pull'n'kill style game play, in fact, I played Everquest for years and years and the same applies for Final Fantasy XI but by reducing downtime significantly the opportunity to run around and kill things will open up. You can even experience this in FFXI if you are fortunate enough to get a really non-MP reliant party at lower levels.

And man, those are few and far between but probably twice as fun as a regular party.

No, I'm not a ghetto thug. What's interesting is your aversion to swearing, when you became hostile initially; I merely stated my opinion. Furthermore, I'm curious as to what distinction you would place between uncalled for hostility and arbitrary words often used to display frustration and feeling.

You "lol"ing at the idea of realism in fiction is enough for me to never take you seriously. Besides that, the idea that you're supporting the mass genocide of a culture is troubling.

Just a nit-pick, but putting an end to a culture is not genocide. Nobody even has to die!
