FFXI + Bizzaro World = FFXIV? (was forum=10)Follow

So after watching the movie, I like the many of you noticed that the races shown are similar (if not the same). Then I noticed the Galka like holding the pickaxe, that was standing next to the hume, elvaan, and chocobo, and noticed he didn't have a tail. After that I had an amusing thought of what if FFXIV would be like FFXI but with just enough differences to make the player experience discomfort of there being something just quite not right.

Example: You start playing and notice a taru-taru figure. You approach the figure expecting your favorite taru-taru with their child like face and what you find is something different. Instead of a taru-taru, you have the toru-toru, with the beard stubble of not shaving for a few days, holding a mug of Mog Grog, and a still burning old Malboro cigarette in his mouth (which is why you're noticing his bad breath). Oh, and he's no pansy back line magician, he's a brawler with high strength and hit points.

Now you walk away and meet up with a Galka like figure, but nope it's a Galku. They are weak as a kitten, but have enough int and magic to give you a run for your gil. They have taken in the humes and let them live in their slums and work in their beautiful farmlands around their city, Bistok.

You then decide to pursue your favorite past time, following some mithra ****. You find yourself following a nice one and didn't notice you entering the men's room. Oh yes, you were following some manthra ****, and guess what? He noticed you with a slick smile.

You run out of there before he can add you as a friend, and notice an elvaan like figure performing high accuracy shots against high evasion foes. You realize with a shiver down your spine that can't be an elvaan because he's not fighting the broad side of a barn and still missing.

What else was happening in this world? Remember those gods that you were expecting to have wake up in FFXI? Yeah, in FFXIV, the gods are awake and you're trying to get them back to sleep.

Yeah, I started a little strong on this, but finished weak.

Never confuse your inference as the listener for an implication of the speaker.

Good games are subjective like good food is subjective. You're not going to seriously tell me that there's not a psychological basis for why pizza is great and lutefisk is revolting. The thing about subjectivity is that, as subjects go, humans actually have a great deal in common.
