What we DON'T want to seeFollow

I don't want to see hot bars.

I don't want to see a UI that must be modded until we can't even see the game.

I don't want to see a crappy story line.

I don't want to see a one character, one class system.

I don't want to lose the job system.

I don't want to see a one character, one craft system.

I don't want to have the FFXI craft system.

I don't want to lose the ability to level all crafts on one character.

I don't want to lose our cutscenes.

I don't want to lose THE QUALITY of our cutscenes.

I don't want an emphasis on PVP that destroys our PVE environment.

I don't want to see WOW in FFXIV.

I don't want to see a Free-for-all PVP as a basic part of the game.

I don't want to see the complete exclusion of a PVP system.

I don't want to see PVP as a major part of the game.

I don't want to see the classic RPG and job systems of FFXIV changed in order to pander to the PVP environment.

I don't want to see PVP ignored, left to a second thought system such as ballista.

I don't want to have to swap equipment for every cast or every weaponskill.

I don't want to lose out on the situational gear and skills that we are forced to develop.

And I don't want to use Playonline anymore. (What?) (They already fixed that?)

We are already one up on the request list ^^!

Anybody got anything else to add?

(edited to change 'we' to 'I'. I never intended to sound like I spoke for the entire community of people awaiting FFXIV, the term 'we' was used for my group of friends.)

Is there a reason you could not add this to one of the existing threads, like my own, asking the exact same question, and asking others to give input on the exact same matter? Why do people keep starting threads, over and over and over, for the exact same subject, instead of just looking at whats up already, and posting in one of the existing ones?

It's getting annoying.

Do NOT want the character creation screen to be different from the actual in-game character.

Do NOT want racial personality pushed on our characters (Tarutaru are cutsey, Elvaan are arrogant jerks, Galka are emo, Mithra are teh hawtness, and Humes are *****).

Do NOT want to have stats on armor that you can't see in the menu (Accuracy, Magic Accuracy/Attack, Ranged Acc/Att, blablabla).

Do NOT want an auction house system again. Seriously, I want ways to actually make and earn money this time.

If we are back to equipment in slots, we need a lot more macro room for changing gear with one button.

Do NOT want it to be so counter-intuitive to contact a GM.

Do NOT want so many time-based NMs vs. Instanced.

Do NOT want RMT.

Hehe, basiclly anything that has the word "PVP" in it is blasphemy.
To make the a long story short, if FF14 will have any serious though on PVP implementation it will destroy the uniqness of the game, just like WoW have been destroyed by its PvP.

What?! The FFXI Auction House was awesome. I felt it was much better than something like the WoW one. Especially with the organization of it and such.

You ... you guys ... realize that FFXIV is a different game, right?

It's not Final Fantasy XI 2.0. It's a different game.

All this stuff you don't want to see change makes me think you should just keep playing FFXI if you're so uncomfortable with a new experience.

Actually its by the same dev team. They have stated they want something similar. So if the dev team finds certain things that have worked in FFXI they may recycle it. Its not a 100% new ip or anything. Its somehow similar to ffxi. Thus we see the similar hume, elvan and galka. No matter what changes they make. The game still has some form of influence.

I do not want to see PvP in the actual game!
Battle grounds are fun and challenging so please have lots of those.

but i dont want to go around fearing that someone that think it is sooo fun to randomly kill ppl 50 lvl lower then them or even same level, i dont care, will ambush me for no reason!

Also PvP will ruin the job system like it happens in WoW where you get nerfed because that class is to good in PvP, and maybe you dont even do PvP ever and u play on a normal server.. but you get nerfed anyway because ppl nag about it being unbalanced ad then you suck at PvE and nobody wants you in group for end game
DO Not want to see this happen Q_Q

Too my knowledge no job ever got nerfed in FFXI for being "too good" at Ballista. I think they did make a few small changes to some abilities, but those changes only applied when you were playing Ballista.

Its a fun a distraction and they disguised it as a sporting event so it wouldn't affect the story. I think the OPTION of doing PvP is nice and it needs to be voluntary. When you're with thousands of other people its only natural to want to challenge someone to some type of contest.

i sure hope that the first post wasnt the TC trying to speak for all of us..thatd be stupid

now obv i agree with a majority of that <who wants to lose the quality of stuff we're sure to have? and who woudl actually WANT a crappy storyline. not caring is one ting but in that case you ignore the story. but wanting a bad one?> however keep in mind that you do NOT speak for all of us, so dont try. cuz thats what it sounds like your doing

I do NOT want some guy <girl?> on the internet saying what I want out of a game

I do NOT want said guy to list a few opinionated stuff and a bunch of obvious stuff that will most likely not be implemented

I do NOT want a clone of FFXI but i dotn mind borrowing what worked from XI and whats been working in other games. its how you succeed in the world. you lie cheat and steal

As the TC, I am sorry if it came across as me speaking for the community, I just meant it to be a thread of what the future players don't want to see in FFXIV.

I will now go back and edit "We" to "I" in the OP.

So anything else out there people don't want to see in the new game?

Yes, I also was under the impression that they are building upon the old system.

no hard feelings TC, i probably overreacted. combonation of not liking 1 person speaking for everyone along with lack of sleep, and seeing you post a strikingly similar post in another thread alltogether just got me a bit peeved. i apologize. especially since thats pretty much exactly what im going to do here XD rehashing what ive been saying in other threads in a "i dotn want" form lol

i dont want to see level down, at the very least it needs to be handles differently

i dont want to see a player driven economy <huge difference (in my mind anyway) between player involved and player driven> since i dont want to see people ignorant of how the economy works, jack asses, and gilsellers making it unbearable for noobs and more experienced people alike <once heared of a very sad story about a galkan mnk...poor guy...but thats another story> thats just wrong and i dont wanna see that again. inflation is fine, and needed in a true economy...but when noob gear costs well more than any noob can afford without buying gil. well thats sick. yesterdays newbies are tomorows vets, we shouldnt be trying to keep them down. they could be a great asset one day. we should be doing everything in our power to help and guide them. im against handouts <im more of a teach them to makle there own money efficiantly kinda guy rather tha agive them everything ona silver platter kidn of guy> but keepng the price of equipment and sells low for the first 15-20 levels sounds reasonable to me. by then they should be able to enter certain areas more safely and farm or whatever to earn money or help their craft

i dont want players to get punished for having lives outside of the game. some people can spend practically 24 hours online at given time, congradulations <i...think> others cant but love the game as much, maybe more, than those people and shouldnt be barred from getting cool stuff or participating in some events. theres a difference from not wanting to spend more time on the game and not being able to. obv this will take some balancing. i understand that some random person who isnt all that into the game and is just killing an hour or so a day on here shouldnt be able to deck themselves out in gear you got from some super quest that took hours/days/weeks/months/years to complete. but that doesnt mean that the casual gamer <and the harcores with little time> cant get cool stuff too. theres a difference from being not optimaly equipped and being gimped

i dont wanna see the only palyable races being XI ones. i could go on but it doesnt matter, this is self explanitory. though i will say that male mithras dont count as a new race -_-, if thats their idea of a new race i'll walk <err swim> to japan and kick SE's asses lol

thats all i got for now

NO RMT. Thats it for me.

I will let them handle the rest, but I do not want to see RMT this time around, there is no excuse for it after years of dealing with it.
