In the zoneFollow

I was thinking about zones and hoping that they wouldn't make an appearance in FFXIV (don't see why they would really I suppose)

Then started thinking about what tricks we will use to escape from mobs, all assuming that mobs will be semi-challenging to escape from

sounded so much better in my head........

I'll be content if they at least keep FFXII's dotted zonelines, which I always thought would help reduce those frustrating accidental zonings without detracting too much from the realism aspect.

Vanguard tried no zones...look how that turned out. You pretty much had zones anyway and your character would freeze on screen for a good 2-4 seconds.

I'd rather have zones, however all of the new Sandy, Bastok, Windy should be one zone. With upgraded technology brings better advances but I still think there should be a set zone.

I just meant transitions, in WOW for example most areas seamlessly connect

I have a feeling this is how it's going to be. I'm not sure how "seamless" WoW was, but I think that if they could do it years ago, FFXIV will be able to do a better job of it now.

If all the areas do seamlessly connect (which I wouldn't be opposed to in the least), I hope that they do a better job of dealing with mobs and aggro. Right now it's a little annoying that if you run too long after claiming mob, such as with a long pull, it will become unclaimed and disappear, but if you aggro a mob or one links on a pull, THAT one is with you forever. Or until you die or zone, anyway.

Very unbalanced.

Hahaha, yes I agree with you. Need to fix that really annoying if zones are connected and you need to run for 200 hours to reach a save place or die Oo
