I remember reading that instead of paying once a month, that they would take payment in 30day increments. Makes me a bit hesitant....
Tanaka said that they were "considering" that option, so it's not set in stone yet, just like anything else. Personally, I think that would be great, as you would be paying for the time you actually play, instead of paying once a month no matter if you play or not.
If we pay for 30 days it would also mean everyone would be billed on different dates so that would also give options of free days if we get server downtime? Not that it really matters to me but just small things that sometimes help to keep the crowd peaceful.
I wouldn't mind if they keep credit card but I do hope they work with different valuta as it is now it is cheaper to get the game from US so you can pay in dollars instead of paying the same amount in euros.
30 Day payments are way better than the way FFXI does it now. As it is now, if you activate on the 25th of a month, you get charged the full fee for the month even though you only played for 5-6 days. Also, I would love if they had prepaid game cards and hopefully you'll be able to remove your CC info when you cancel your account this time around too.
As long as they keep the more diverse payments like Switch Solo ELV and Cartebleu(sp?!) I'll be happy, but that's probably because I'm not from America.
Paypal would seem like the obvious option for reaching a broader audience, and yeah top up cards would be nice. I don't know for sure but isn't this type of system already set up in Japan (although a little more obscure?)
I would have to say part of runescapes p2p service was so successfully because there literally wasn't a reason not to. They had every method possible, even using your mobile phone was an option. It is a big part in the success of a game really
