Well hi guys, its me again, this time though I have concrete evidence as to this next instalment in my speculation theories of doom. Allow me to base my claims with the following:

Square Enix Europe GM Position posted on website: (Also noted the Online game testers Positions also posted underneath the GM positions and its emphasis on FFXI)

http://www.square-enix.com/eu/en/jobs/

Link To Eorzeapedia news article in relation to the news:
http://www.eorzeapedia.com/2009/06/11/speculation-beta-as-early-as-september/

As you can see even if they do not start mid september, it is highly probable that an internal Beta is going on as we speak. Not only this but if it is not mid-september when they actually start it at least that is when they start training their new people for lets say an October beta ?

Expect huge news about FFIV from TGS this year in september.

Yours truly,

Magspy

PS: I keep searching my files ^^v

im also expecting HUGE news at the TGS.

as for the beta... realisticly..... hm... if they go from beta straight to retail then id have to say it would be around..... march, april. pretty much when ff13 is comes out i can see them giving out beta codes for preorders or even in the booklet or something.

ff14 b4 ff13... very unlikly... but it could happen...

they could announce the beta do the 6 months or w/e then take a 2-3 month break for updates that could push the beta to... ya around sept... both are possible... but im betting my money on the ff13 package deal... makes sense business wise more then anything.

I don't see any reason for them not to go straight from beta to retail. The beta will probably be about 6 months long, so I say it'll start in October. They won't release the beta the very same day they hire people for it, so they'll need a little bit for training them. With an October release, the game itself would be launched April or May.

In another post made in this forum the dev stated beta starts at the beginning of 2010.

I really think people are reading too much into job postings. Is it so improbable that these are actually positions for FFXI?

IMO, speculation that a beta will start as early as September is entirely unrealistic, as it assumes that by "2010 release" they meant early 2010. I think it's more likely that 13 gets released in the early part of the year, beta begins mid-year, and release is in the fall.

Meanwhile, FFXI has two more mini expansions due out this year, both of which seem to be more likely candidates for a need for QA testers with experience in FFXI. There's also the chance that these jobs were posted because people were promoted or quit. I think that while he means well, Fusionx is giving people false hope.

I agree. And besides, even if these were beta related, it means nothing. For example, assume it is a GM for FF14. You are ignoring training time, closed beta that only VERY select people will hear anything about, retraining as the engine and system get tweaked by early feedback, etc. If the job posting said the position started tomorrow, I'd figure 3-5 months before it meant anything on our end.
