Post "END THE 5 MINUTE WEAKENED PENALTY" in the 5 minutes I'm waiting right now :P

Make it 2 minutes at most, please.

It should have a penalty associated with it, but SE has said they recognize that there was too much waiting in FFXI. Getting rid of rez sickness might be part of the reduction in the number of needless waits.

Rez sickness is just needless waiting. If we already lose experience, I don't think we should have to suffer from rez sickness as well.

I think it's something worth having, but five minutes is a tad excessive. One or two minutes makes the most sense to me. You'd need to meditate that long to get your mana back anyway.

well I thought of something this morning.

Since there is no exp in FF14,

Raise 1 = 5 minute weakness

Raise 2 = 2.5 minute weakness

Raise 3 = no weakness, just low hp/mp

that wouldn't help, the main point of weakness, if i remember, was to avoid "zombi mode"(raise->dd->die->raise->etc).

a way to help a lil bit would be, for exemple that the time waiting for raise to be deduced with a 1/12 ratio(if i accept a raise at 59mn59, i'd get a 12s weakness)
(here isn't the fxi suggestion anyway, and we probably wont have weaknes in that form on ffxiv either)

Meh. I always used the 5 minutes to grab a beer or go to the restroom.

I kinda do and kinda don't agree with getting rid of the weakened system.
Obviously its just one big cockblock from carrying on with the game as you usually would with no real reason.

On the other hand I understand death HAS to punished, otherwise you lose a sense of reason for the game. I know there are some FPS games out there, like Bioshock for example; don't get me wrong its a good game, but there is absolutely no way of getting game over, you feel kinda like you're playing it solely for story and not really to well survive in the world.

As others mentioned, it's a good chance to review the situation for example in a party, and restrategize, on the other hand it's just a plain waste of time, in things like BCs for example.

It's a tough situation to solve whilst maintaining balance, but I'm sure SE have plans.

What a lot of people are failing to realize is their assumptions are based that the gameplay is similar to XI.

We have no idea what HP/MP/other stats will be. What levels the Raise spells will be at or who gets them.

5 minutes might have been designed from the start to prevent the mentality of: "oh if I die I'll just get up heal and go at it again". If combat is significantly different than this obviously will be addressed.

WTF? the weakened after rez is only 5 mins?!?!? ive never looked that into it but it always felt like alot more than that....seriously i could go to wally world, walk the dog, and fit in a quickie in the time it takes for it to come off.

LETS HAVE NO PENALTY FOR DYING! THAT WAY YOU CAN LIVE FOREVER AND JUST BLOW THROUGH THE GAME GIVEN ENOUGH TIME!

I am sure plenty of people will play this, for about a month.
