Haven't played ff11 in awhile and being the funnest mmo I've ever played I decided to check out the forums again and just learned about ff14. I'm very excited but there are other mmo's coming out that Ive been looking at as well such as champions online and dragonball online and now I'm over whelmed. I'm very interested in seeing the turn out and which one I'll end up giving my money to.
Guess will see what each game comes out with and which one I'll pick.

As of now the only two I'm looking at are: The Old Republic and XIV. I'll take a look at the new Blizzard MMO when they finally unveil it but I'm worried they'll just make a WoW clone w/ better graphics.

Yeh, you definitely forgot to mention Star Wars: Old Republic. However, I sort of hope this one bombs so Bioware can get busy on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic III for XBOX 360 and/or PS3. It's not that I think Bioware's MMO will suck, because it looks sweet, but I'm a console gamer. Always have been, always will be. Computer gaming is just too expensive for my tastes. Since FFXI/FFXIV is the only MMO on PS3/XBOX 360, I'm stuck playing console games, for now.
Dragonage Origins, God of War, and Dante's Inferno has my attention.

Are there any other cool games I should keep an eye out for on PS3/XBOX 360, to keep me busy until FFXIII/XIV comes out?

I'm looking at Star trek online and DC universe online as well as this one. And of course SW:tor was mentioned.
I'm really hoping SE wont delete characters that cancel anymore because I really want to play all these mmos but I wont be able to sub them all at once, I'm gonna need to start an mmo rotation ><

As much as I'm a Star Trek fan, I can't picture myself ever playing a MMORPG based on it. I thought the various RPG and tabletop ST game weren't that good. It just seems to be the wrong type of SciFi universe for a MMORPG.

I'm not a WoW fan but I don't think that would really be a bad idea.

I'll also note that if the graphics are more stylish like FFXI's and not repulsive like WoW's (IMHO) then I might even play.

While I'm interested in SW all I'm looking forward to is XIV and Jumpgate Evolution (I miss space combat simulation, and if it's anything like Privateer it has my monthly payment!)

I hate to say it, but, also as a Star Trek fan, you're pretty much on the money.

Here's hoping that Cryptic can break the cycle, because I really am looking forward to at least trying it.

I'm really only looking at FFXIV and Aion. My hubby may check out TOR, but I'm not all that excited about it even though I'm a SW fan. Aion is something I'm interested in checking out, but mostly just to pass the time until FFXIV.

Star Gate looked fun, but I haven't read about it in at least a year. Also Dragonball Z with aging and growing characters sounded hot, but I bet it is still not done.

Same, I have preordered Aion, it’s coming out in September 2009. This game have potential, and in case FF14 turns into a huge disappointment I have Aion to fall back on ^^

I have giving up on the Stargate MMO as a lost cause. Aion, DDO going F2P, and Global Agenda, are what I am looking at to pass the time until FFXIV, outside of what raiding I still actually do in WoW.

I have played the CB of Aion and it looks to be the game to hold my interest until FFXIV comes out.

I had been keeping my eyes on the DC MMO, the Knights of the Old Republic, MMO, Star Trek Online, and Rapture/FFXIV for the past few months trying to see a new MMO on the horizon I could get hyped for. If XIV hadn't gotten some press by now I may have focused on one of the others, but this Will be my next MMO now.

I think all of the above (and others I haven't followed as closely I'm sure) are neat concepts, and the MMO community looks to be much more competitive in the next couple of years than what we've seen in the recent past.

Reading about this is what finally sealed it for me to pick up Aion.

Eek. New member here.
I noticed that there are a lot of mmo's coming out, too.
But I am still only interested in FFXIV.
The sad part is, I don't know when it's coming out, and I am pretty sure it's going to be late 2010? :(
Which really sucks, I wish my brother hadn't told me about it.
Because, I cannot stop 'searching' for more information on it; and of course, there is only the little amount of E3 coverage, that has been released.

I'll just be glad when I can finally get back to FFXI.
I've been playing it off and on for almost 3 years now.
Just because of money issues.
But I definitely want to get back to it, until the release of FFXIV.
At least, it will keep me distracted from FFXIV news, lol, I hope.

Will there be an open beta for Aion?

Yes, when? dunno. The game is in the very early stages of CB (next event being the 19th-21st of June). You can take part in the CB and the OB by preordering or reserving through GameStop. You will also get some nifty in-game items upon release.

I was interested in Aion for a while, but the more I read about it and the more videos I watched...the more it seemed to be too much like Perfect World, which I had just quit because I was sick of it. So Aion doesn't interest me.

What I've been interested in for a long time is Mabinogi: Heroes.
It's been in closed beta for a very long time, and just recently there were signups for the second phase of closed beta.

I really wanted to sign up, but you need a Korean Social Security Number to register. So I eventually gave up. I'm going to see if registration is easier once it hits open or it's finished...or maybe comes to the U.S...but I'm betting that will be even after FFXIV comes out.

Too bad.
