TP in FFXI always kinda seemed a bit too restrictive. In essence it was the 'limit break' for each character. But it left mages with basically nothing good (until either high end skills or quested ones), and very difficult to build up for those attacks when playing 'properly.'

What changes would you like to see?

Personally I'd LOVE to have a system closer to FFX where you could customize how your character gained TP (or overdrive points w/e). I'm not sure on whether the player should be able to choose what mode to be in, or if it comes set with each job. I'm leaning toward choosing simply because i feel this would allow more customization.

what are your thoughts?

I kinda feel that this feature might see the biggest change from XI to XIV, so I don't really want to speculate- however I think that it'll involve mages more this time and not just DD's.

I would like each melee job to have 2-3 varying fighting styles, that you can switch to mid battle. This would be especially sweet for MNK/SAM/NIN. It would make the fight much more entertaining to watch, IMO.

Erm, like Hasso/Seigan? Or with actual new stance fighting animations?

as a rdm from the get-go I didn't even kno TP existed till lvl 30 lol...I know NOOB. But f agree with the first post, to an extent I think it should be gained differently according to different jobs. im all for custimization...but I think to much freedom to lead to some not so good extremes.

the only reason I am worried about customizing your limit mode would be that someone would learn how to break the system. a sam/blu just spamming headbutt under the 'inflict status ailment' [stun] mode would just stunlock a mob and then TP move.

But i'd like to at least see multiple choices even if you cant choose from EVERY mode you know. This would allow for DD PLD or Turtle PLD setups. (attack vs stoic modes)

I actually loved TP in ffxi, I loved how you could be waiting and desperately hoping you land your next hit or you die lol.

I'd perhaps like a system where a certain amount of offensive magic damage would unlock better magic damage spells (METEOR ZOMG) and for white magic a certain amount of HP healed unlocks better Cure's, I don't know something like that lol.

I liked WAR's moral system. It's based on the amount of time you have been fighting. The longer you fight the more moral you get and the better the special ability you can use or you can use a weaker special ability more often. When you stop fighting you start losing moral.
