Some sorta new screenshots you guys might be interested in: detailed screenshot breakdown of the full e3 trailer. You might notice in the boat scene all of the humes in the background are the same exact model~ thought that was strange.. especially since the devs mentioned that part of the trailer came from the in-game engine.

You might notice that all of the jelly-fish monsters are the same exact model, too~

It's not surprising, really. Placeholder models are to be expected of a game so early in development. Squeenix probably just wanted some people in the background, and the trailer was only going to flash them for a second, where people would get hardly a glimpse, so it doesn't mean anything significant.

I for one would LOVE to have that white hair on my character.
also, notice in one of the pics for the ferry-fight there is a hume down on all fours. Either a new knockdown or him getting up from being raised instead of floating up?

From what I understand, FFXIV is not early into development.

As a matter of fact; we are expecting the beta and news regarding the beta to be released around the fall of '09.

SE said they expect a release date in 2010. It is MUCH MUCH MUCH further than anyone imagined.

ya
i wonder what that bubble is.
i hope it a spell we can get. in a battle like that it could save lives if used right.

another thing... if thats levi... does that mean summons arnt going to be used this time around or is THAT the new summon? imagine summoning something like that out of a the water to kick some ***.

I highly doubt that will be the summonable version of Leviathan. Not saying that there will or won't be summons (seems likely, but you never know), but something THAT big being controlled by a player just doesn't seem right.

I agree with the white hair comment from earlier...that would look awsome on a taru! maybe we can grow facial hair too!!! imma make mine look like my grandpa ^o^!!! If we can acctually use that bubble shield looking thing then I expect ffxiv to be alot different, I have never seen anything like that in ffxi before, has anyone else? Its not really an AoE right? it don;t look like it deals damage...ins just a shield that completely blocks everything from the looks of it...slowly drains mp i guess?

Edit: never seen that bubble shield type thing in any FF.**
