Stackable potions?Follow

Hey all...

Anyone interested in stackable potions this time around?
Since this game is more solo oriented potions could be brought back, any thoughts?

Good Idea, I could see this being in the game, even tho I play mmos for the interaction with other people. This could still benefit crafters, and be a huge help for the people that wants to solo. I dont think it will be like a solo player game tho, where you just spam potions, but It could be.

I'm certainly hoping potions and ethers will become a much more viable means of healing and mp recovery, as long as they aren't enough to outclass healing jobs.
What would happen if I hired two private investigators to follow each other?

Just make restrictions on how many times you can use said potions, and by restrictions I mean time it takes where you can use a healing potion again. Like say 30 seconds, same for ethers. Then make the first 3 healing potions and first 2 ethers available in different vendors for cheap prices. Then a multitude of others that are crafted only. The beginner ones of course can be crafted with cheap materials and hopefully compete against the vendor prices to make sure these aren't stupidly priced so people can actually keep a good stack of potions. While we are on the topic of stacking things, hopefully stacks will get much higher, more things will stack and starter inventory space is alot higher.. pretty please? :D

I think it would be a healthy change. From the few seconds of gameplay shown in the trailer, it looks like combat will be much faster. So, it would only seem to make sense that recovery would become quicker as well. Higher stacking numbers would be nice too. I'm going to guess for 20 instead of 12 probably.

20 is a good number, hopefully they will decided that it is a retarded idea that items that are currently equipped doesnt take away from your inventory space..

I would also like to see stacking capability with anything except armor and weapons. That would be useful and I would have to run and store everything like every half an hour.

As a BST main, and crafter, I had a beef with unstackable Yagudo/Au Lait/Potions/Ethers. Please, SE, I beg you, make these items more user friendly this time around.

I think with FFXIV being more "solo friendly" we may see changes that are also more "solo friendly" such as stackable potions, etc. If SE is truly committed to making the game accessible to people who would rather "go it alone," then surely they wouldn't make them fill up their inventories with potions and such that they will need a lot of when playing alone. It would be hard to solo if your "gobbie bag" was filled to the brim with the potion-type items you will probably need to survive.

Seriously, who uses potions in ANY FF game.

I might have used the free ones from chests etc for the first few levels in the offline games, but for the most part it seemed like a wasted 2 seconds of time to use a potion as opposed to heal. They were a waste of gil in eleven. Well, for the majority of the series they were always a waste of gil to me.

Ethers I used the **** out of tho. I always bought alot of those in the games... except for 11, where I also almost never brought potions, unless it was a particular fight.
I always had food and drinks for my mages tho.

So lets hope potions have a more prominent role in FFXIV, but I bet the only way that is gonna happen is with a Chemist job or skill.

Really I think any consumable item should stackable unless they are intended to be used only rarely. At least in FFXI, with food, tools, and gear for macro swaps, people's inventory spaces are far too valuable to waste on something as weak as a single potion.

All we need is downtime between fights to be eliminated or reduced to neglible. This was a major mistake in FFXI which made mages 2nd rate citizens.
